Ada Keller Gundersen Nordquist

1930 ~ 2017

Ada Keller Gundersen Nordquist died early in the morning of May 14, 2017 in St. George, Utah. Ada was born to Vivian Keller Gundersen and Arthur Gundersen in 1930 in Mink Creek Idaho, as the oldest of four children. Ada received her nursing diploma from Salt Lake County Hospital and her Bachelors of Science in nursing from the University of Utah. Her nursing career started at Salt Lake County Hospital, to Memorial Medical Center VA Hospital, and then later for the Salt Lake County Public Health Department, the University of Utah Research Department in COPD and Infectious Disease. She later returned to the Veteran Administration Medical Center where she finished out her career.

Ada was beloved and will be remembered for her humanity and life-long services. She fed and nourished many people both physically and emotionally, typically serving yummy clam chowder soup and Belgian waffles in her southwestern style home. Ada shared her wisdom and earnings with those whom she felt could benefit from her generosity. She enjoyed spending time and planning trips, notably taking her grandchildren to Europe for "an education". Ada loved putting in many custom building projects and expanding her Ivins home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Les Nordquist and Lee Edwards, her son Terry Nordquist, brothers Leonard Gundersen, Daniel Tolman, Don Gundersen, and sisters Marion Maloney, Eunice Haws/Schilawski, and Jean Jensen. Ada is survived by daughter Nancy Nordquist, grandchildren, Nick (Valerie) Nordquist, Amber (Dan) Andreason, Jesse Hoekstra and Cori Hoekstra and great grandchildren Bailey Nordquist, Shelby Nordquist, Remington Nordquist, Hunter Andreason, Mason Andreason, as well as brothers Arthur "Bud" (Ginny) Gundersen Jr, Max (Georgia) Gundersen, and sister Lavern Cardell.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May19, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens,1950 EDimple Dell Rd. (10600 S), Sandy, UT. Additional information about Ada can be obtained at
