Adam Shane Vranes (AKA Shane, Shaney, Dad, Big Guy, Sweetie) was born on March 11, 1970, in Cottonwood Hospital to Shirley and Byron Vranes. He grew up in Midvale, UT as the oldest sibling of one sister, Jennifer, and two brothers, Tyler and Josh. He loved them very much. He also loved his mom and admired her strength and work ethic. He loved his grandparents very much too. He has many happy memories of making tortillas and listening to Mexican music with them.

Shane graduated from Hillcrest High. After high school, he went to Cedar City to attend SUU and to live with his Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Ron. He worked for them at Jenkins Oil where he learned a good work ethic and worked hard. He could even throw around 50-gallon barrels like they were nothing. He loved his cousins there, especially his cousin Eric.

After several years he returned home to work at Cottonwood Hospital as a surgical orderly and attend Salt Lake Community College.
Shaney met Pam, the love of his life, in the Cottonwood Hospital operating room. They were married on August 22, 1992, one year to the day of their first date. Four years later the same date they were married in the Salt Lake Temple to seal their love for eternity. They are each other’s “sweeties” forever!

Shane started working for Swire Coca-Cola in August 1993. He was proud to work there and was a big fan of Coke and Dr. Pepper! He never called in sick to work. He was named Employee of the Year, and Employee of the Month several times, even one month when he was working with a stress fracture in his leg! This August would have been his 30-year anniversary at Coke.

Shane converted to the LDS church a week before he and Pam were married. He enjoyed his calling as a Primary teacher so much. Shane and Brax were a good teaching team in Primary and most recently he taught with Pam in Sunday School.

Shane was thrilled to become a dad! He loves his three boys, Braxton, Branson, and Bridger, so very much. He loved watching them play sports. We called it the parent payday! He loved exploring with the family on Rexie and even exploring a few mines! He also loved fishing and camping with his family too. He was a big fan of snorkeling and would stay out in the ocean for hours. He was happy to have Ashley join our family when she married Branson in 2019. Another highlight of his life was becoming a new grandpa to beautiful Daisy Lynn last September. Shane absolutely loved his family vacations, and it was fun to see his extra silly side come out when he was on vacation and just having fun!

He is survived by his wife Pamela; his sons Braxton, Branson (Ashley), and Bridger; granddaughter Daisy Lynn; mother Shirley; father Byron, sister Jennifer (Brandon); Brothers Tyler (Tara) and Josh; mother-in-law, Jeri.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 12352 Bigbend Creek Drive, Herriman, UT. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 2:30 - 3:30 pm prior to the services. A light dinner will follow the services.

Shane was a wonderful human. So thankful to him and Pam for taking me in when I first moved to Utah. I have many fond memories of eating bean quesadillas and watching Bonanza with Shane after he’d get home from work. I was always so happy when Shane would visit Atlanta and we could catch up.
Shane, you are so loved and missed. Until we meet again, rest in peace.

I went to school with Shane and he was the kindest happiest person I have ever met. I’m glad he has known so much happiness and joy in life with his sweet family. He will truly be missed and my heart aches for your loss.

I deliver for Schwans and worked and delivered many of the same stores as Shane. He was a really good guy and I was devastated when I heard of his passing. I always appreciated his professionalism and and the respect he had for his fellow workers in the field. He will truly be missed.
