Alan Jarvis Keddington left his earthly home on Saturday, January 4, 2025, to continue his adventures in heaven and join hosts who have guided him along the way, in great anticipation of his return. Most assuredly, we are deeply humbled by the sweet joy he experienced upon reuniting with the patriarch of our family, Richard A. Keddington.

Alan's arrival to our family was as much of a surprise to us as was his departure. Alan was born on May 4,1981, to Richard A. Keddington and Barbara J. Keddington in Salt Lake City, Utah, at St. Mark's Hospital and he was such a perfect fit into the family with his sweet curly hair and baby blue eyes. He made our family complete and became our little caboose. As unexpectedly as he arrived, his departure was even more unexpected. In the early morning hours of January 4, 2025, as Alan was preparing for work, he suffered a massive heart attack, commonly referred to as "The Widow Maker". At the age of 43 years young, we have been left in shock and despair at Alan's sudden passing.

Alan was a kind and old soul. He deeply cared for everyone that came into his life and he always wanted to help anyone he saw in need. He was willing to listen, give advice without judgement, and he had a personality that was larger than life, with a unique laugh and the purest heart. Alan would go above and beyond for anyone and would let the neighbors know that he was not a rich man, but that he had two hands capable of serving those in need of assistance.

Alan was a dedicated husband and father and his four sons were the most important thing to him. He worked tirelessly to ensure he provided everything his family needed and wanted. Alan loved adventure and was fond of everything from the mountains in the Uintas to the red rock of Moab as he always wanted to be outdoors looking for a hidden gem so he could explore, sleep under the starry skies and give his family lots of fond memories. Alan was a kid at heart; however, he loved his country, was very patriotic and he instilled amazing values in his children. Alan loved paddleboarding, mountain biking, working on projects, discovering new hobbies and had a talent for acquiring new skills, attaining new information and applying his newly acquired talents into projects or assisting others when they were in need.

This write-up just wouldn't be complete if we didn't mention the fact that Alan loved all things with engines and wheels. His knowledge was vast when it came to cars, trucks, engines, motorcycles, etc. At home, family gatherings, eating establishments, etc., you would always find Alan deep in conversation with his nephews, sons, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters (everyone) about vehicular modes of transportation for use and for sport. As always, it was a joy to see his face light up as he discussed one of his all-time favorite topics.

His comedic ways, gentle servitude, kind gestures, loving arms, vast knowledge of all topics, love of country and family, loudness, calmness and gentle giant ways will be so desperately missed. We are broken and look so forward to the day when we will meet again and feel the love of this wonderful man, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who walked this earth with us and made everything just a little more fun and full of love. Alan, fly high, watch over us, remind us of your presence and sprinkle us with tender mercies. You are so loved and we miss you so much.

Alan is survived by his wife Amanda and his children AJ, Andrew, Atley and Aiden. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Jane Keddington as well as his sisters Kristen (Kip) and Kim (Warren) and his brothers Richard (Veronica) and Ryan (Chrissy). Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Arthur Keddington and many other family members from both sides of the family.

The Keddington Family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ace Recycling for their kind and loving support of our family at this time. Funeral and viewing services will be conducted by Larkin Mortuary. A viewing and gathering of friends will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., located at the LDS church on 3555 West 5620 South, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Friday, January 10, 2025, with a short viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens located at 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.

Alan was the first person I meet when I started working for Waste Management 12 years ago. We became instant friends! 5 years into my employment at WM Alan was looking to better his income and so he moved on to Ace. We stayed friends even though he now worked for WM competition. During the first election of Donald Trump We meet every Wednesday at Apollo Burger on Redwood and North Temple to do our part in saving the world. He truly did love this country and his family! You will be missed by many Alan! Rest in peace my friend!!
