Celebration of Life

To be held at a later date

Annette Marie Tiede, affectionately known as Nanz, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 17th at her home in Sandy, UT, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Born on September 23, 1958, in Monroe, WA to Dr. Eldred Plumley and Alene Plumley, Annette's life journey led her to touch countless hearts and souls. Annette lived in Monroe, WA until 1967, when her father moved his Optometry practice to Renton, WA. Annette grew up in a house with 7 other siblings and was always focused on doing what she could to help out. Annette graduated from Lindbergh High School in Renton, WA, and went on to work for Safeway for 4 years, where she met Rod Tiede, marrying in June of 1983. Annette moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1986 with her now former husband, Rod, where she raised her children in Sandy, remaining in the area ever since. When her children were young, Annette was a part of the PTA and an active member of her community and church group. Annette poured her heart and soul into caring for her family. Her devotion to her children, Nicole and Garrett, and granddaughter, Annabelle, was boundless.

Annette's passion for horses, particularly her beloved companion Aruba, filled her life with joy and adventure. She shared a deep connection with nature and the outdoors. As a prominent figure in the Utah equine community, she found solace and exhilaration riding the scenic trails of Utah, forging unforgettable memories with Aruba by her side. Annette was also an extremely talented creator, and her handmade gifts, repairs, crafts, and floral arrangements were cherished treasures that reflected the thoughtfulness and connection she brought to each person in her life. Her talents and insight brought joy to many, and her gifts will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to receive them.

As she leaves this temporary life, Annette's spirit will continue to glow, watching over her loved ones with the same love and warmth that defined her life on earth. Though she may be gone from our sight, her presence will be felt in the gentle breeze, the warm sunlight, or the perfect view of the mountains. She will be cherished by the loving memories she leaves behind.

Annette is survived by her two children, Nicole Brannen (Ryan), and Garrett Tiede (Andrea); granddaughter Annabelle; brothers and sisters Chris Ottini, Lynda Hughes, Cathy Ryan, Steve Plumley, Cynthia Plumley, and Jeff Plumley. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alene Plumley; father, Dr. Eldred Plumley; and sister Debra Plumley. A private memorial service will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens on May 22, 2024. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 6:00 - 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. A celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Our mom will be remembered for the love and warmth she gave away freely and as a shining example of kindness. She always put her family first and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the memories she created. In the hearts of her family and friends, she will forever remain one of the sweetest, most selfless, wonderful mothers the world has known. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. We love you, Mom.

Guestbook/Condolences

I will truly miss our summertime evening chats when I would be out walking my dog and Annette and I would have one of our horse appreciation chats that only us horse lovers would understand. We would discuss everything from her recent trail ride adventures to grooming and even the soft nuzzle and love only a horse can give. I loved her warm loving ways that one always could feel just by having been in her presence . May Heavenly Father bless her family and may they always feel her by their side. Annette, till we meet again.

Nicole and Garret,
I was very saddened to hear that your mom had passed! I served in the Relief Society Presidency with her. I have many memories from those years!
Losing a mom is extremely hard! I know there are no words that can ease your pain, but I am thinking of you during this difficult time.
I can't attend the viewing, but know that I send healing prayers and comfort to each of you!
