Born January 19, 1935 in Syracuse, New York to William L. Carr Sr. and Nora B. Carr (nee Grebner). Barbara and her sister, Deanna, lived with their grandmother, “Ma Carr,” often spending time with various relatives.

When their mother died, Barbara and Deanna came to Salt Lake to live. That was where Barbara met the love of her life, Farrol Papworth. They were married in November of 1978 and explored life, traveling the world together until his death in 1984. Following Farrol’s death, Barbara continued to travel and see the world.

She was a fabulous aunt to her niece and nephews, spoiling them endlessly. When she was told by her nephew that he and his wife were expecting their first baby and she would be a great-aunt, her response was, “I’ve always been a great aunt.” Yes, she most definitely was.

After a very brief illness, Barbara died on December 16, 2024 at her home in Salt Lake. She is survived by her sister Deanna Winger, brother William (Wendy) Carr Jr., and her niece and nephews: Michael (Sherry) Winger, Janet Winger, Dale (Wendy) Winger, and Mark (Stephanie) Winger, along with 13 great nieces and nephews, and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. We are thankful for Reed Hart, making her final years full of love and support.
