Betty Charlotte Haun, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Sandy, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 12, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love.
Betty was the cherished daughter of Thomas and Ruthe Ann Price. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her siblings: Thomas Price, Jerry Price, and Carol Anne Keithley. Throughout her life, Betty remained deeply connected to her roots and carried forward the values instilled in her from a young age.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty served faithfully in various callings over the years. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light, not only for herself but also for those who knew her.
Betty married Joseph Charles Haun Jr. on September 15, 1951, and shared a loving marriage until his passing. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their children: Jolynn Petrlich, Kim Haun, Collette Justesen, and Janica Haun. As a mother and grandmother, Betty poured her heart into nurturing her family. She was the heart of the home, offering unconditional love, gentle guidance, and a warm embrace to all who entered her life. We will always remember her “twinkling” eyes and beautiful smile.
Selflessly, after raising her own children, Betty lovingly cared for two of her grandchildren, Kristin Takemori and Katrina Keys. Our family is forever grateful to them for the compassion, devotion, and love they showed our sweet grandma in her lifetime.
Betty’s passions brought beauty into everyday moments. She loved watching birds and tending her garden; flowers were always nearby, symbols of the joy she cultivated around her. As a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity, she found great pleasure in reading and expanding her knowledge throughout every stage of life. Staying up to date with technology, she became a master of using an iPad and enjoyed listening to books daily.
Betty’s kindness, gentle strength, and enduring faith left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, with each act of compassion echoing the love she so freely gave. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her children: Jolynn (Nick) Petrlich, Kim (Kim) Haun, Collette (Rick) Justesen, and Janica Haun. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she was an integral part of each of their lives: Collette Bakko, Angela Petrlich, Joey Petrlich, Danielle Love, Brandon Dalton, Nikole Dalton, Robyn Kunz, Alison Livingston-Holmes, Riley Jo Hanni, Kristin Takemori, Katrina Keys, and Shelly Street.
Betty also cherished her great-grandchildren: Harlie, Waylon, Page, Willy, Lexi, Aiden, Isabelle, Sebastian, Collin, Sawyer, Brynleigh, Reagan, Tatum, Austin, Chris, Ethan, Halli, Joshua, Abigail, Mercedes, Hillary, Delle, Willa Jo, Taylor, Madison, Brooklyn, Erykah, Ashlyn, Aaliyah, Felicity, and Marina, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Her legacy continues through her great-great-grandchildren: Miley, Demi, Zaniyah, Winter, Davina, Zion and Bronxton.
Betty was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, always offering an open door and an open heart. She treasured the lifelong friendships she maintained until the very end of her life; these friendships were deeply precious to her and remained close to her thoughts each day.
One of Betty’s lifelong sayings was, “They are doing the best they can.” May this gentle wisdom, along with the cherished memory of Betty, inspire comfort in all who knew and loved her. Let us carry her saying forward, allowing it to live on in our hearts and actions, reminding us to embrace compassion and understanding in our own lives.
She now reunites with those who preceded her in death, including her beloved husband, Joseph Charles Haun Jr.; her parents, Thomas and Ruthe Ann Price; her brothers, Thomas Price and Jerry Price; and her sister, Carol Anne Keithley.
We want to thank Sara and Rosa from Hospice of Utah for the loving care they provided to our sweet mom and grandmother.
