Brooke Pitcher Denton passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Saturday, June 28, 2025.
She was born on May 31, 1980, in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she spent her early years in a lively neighborhood filled with friendship, freedom, and fun. It was a place where kids played night games, softball, rode bikes, skateboarded, roller-skated, and played hide & seek until long after the sun went down. Brooke thrived in that environment—curious, playful, and full of life—forming many cherished friendships during her childhood.
Brooke was a voracious reader and a deeply thoughtful young woman. She gravitated toward books that challenged the status quo and stirred the soul, such as Women Who Run with the Wolves, The Red Tent, Sophie’s World, and From Beginning to End: The Rituals of Our Lives. Her passion for critical thinking shaped her high school and college writing, where she often explored themes related to social justice, women's lost traditions, and the complexities of human experience. She sought not only to understand herself, but to understand others on a profound level.
From a young age, Brooke found joy and expression through movement. What began as a love for gymnastics quickly blossomed into a deep and lifelong passion for dance. She trained competitively in jazz, ballet, lyrical dance, and hip-hop, and performed in The Nutcracker with Ballet West. As her skill and artistry grew, Brooke danced in venues across San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Southern California. Her heart was particularly drawn to San Francisco—a city that would later become her home and the foundation for her remarkable professional journey.
After graduating from Cottonwood High School, Brooke pursued her Associate’s Degree at Salt Lake Community College. She later married Joseph Denton and moved to Pacifica, California. Around this time, she began working at Paradigm Healthcare Services, LLC in an entry-level position answering phones at the front desk. Her drive, intelligence, and vision quickly became evident. Brooke rose through the ranks and, over the course of 22 years, helped shape Paradigm into an industry leader. As Chief Operating Officer, she led efforts in client services, software development, product packaging, marketing, and state-wide education on Student Health Programs. Her leadership left a lasting imprint on California’s school-based healthcare landscape.
Despite her professional accomplishments, Brooke’s greatest joy and fulfillment came from being a mother to her three beloved children: Caroline Frasier (26), Isaiah J. Denton (16), and Mia Denton (10). They were the loves of her life—her true North Star. Brooke devoted herself to nurturing them with wisdom, care, and boundless love. She often spoke of her desire to pass down the “hard-earned” lessons she had gathered over the years so that her children could find peace and success earlier in life. In their hearts, Brooke’s love blazed bright and left behind traces of stardust—emotional intelligence, deep understanding, and unwavering love.
Brooke divorced after 13 years of marriage, and throughout every chapter of her life—both joyful and painful—she carried herself with resilience, grace, and a fierce desire to grow. In addition to her three children, she is survived by her parents, John C. Pitcher and Rexine B. Pitcher; her siblings, Aaron J. Pitcher, Bryan B. Pitcher, and Nicole P. Monsen; and she is preceded in death by her older sister, Carla Pitcher.
A Memorial service and Brooke’s Celebration of Life will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon to follow at 2:30 p.m. for family, close friends, and those who have traveled from out of town.

Dear Pitcher Family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Brooke will always be remembered as one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever known.
