C. Jay Labrum, age 70, our son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was surrounded by his family after an unexpected automobile accident. Born November 4, 1955, in Fillmore, Utah, to Drue and Rebecca.
In his early years he married Deborah Jensen Bettinson. They were married for five years, and had three children: Patricia (Jason), Benjamin Jay (Brenda), and Hillary. He later married Laurie Ralphs on August 24, 1985, in Leamington, Utah. Together they had three children: Brian (Cindy), Melissa (Matt), and Erica (Aaron). They were later sealed on December 2, 2006, in the Jordan River Utah temple.
Jay served in the Army National Guard. He served in Desert Storm.
He was a Corrections Officer at the Utah State Prison and retired after 24 years.
He enjoyed working with the Cub Scouts, working in his garden, and had the most beautiful roses and yard.
Jay is survived by all six of his children, his mother Rebecca Clements, father Drue Labrum (Keryl), grandkids Tyler, Brett, Paige, Brynlee, Joel, Christopher, Aiden, Carson, Kaylee, Ethan, Elliana, Adam, Zack, Mason, Mattix, Manning, Maxton, Mattylyn, Mckade, Justin (Savana), Jackson, Isabell, Destiny, and great-grandchildren Ariah and Anakin.
He is preceded in death by father-in-law Billie C. Ralphs, stepfather Charles Clements, brother-in-law Doyce Ralphs, and great-niece Essence Mackay.
As a family we would like to thank the first responders in Millard County and the nurses and doctors that cared for him at the Fillmore Hospital, as well as the many doctors, nurses and staff at Utah Valley Regional Hospital. They took great care of him up until the end. Also the amazing donor team with Donor Connect Utah. They helped find recipients for three of Jay’s organs. We are so proud of our hero, knowing he was able to provide such a special gift to those three families.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel at 3976 West Dimrall Dr., Kearns, Utah. A gathering will be held at 10:00 a.m. before the service.
