Carol Lou Miller Hale
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, companion, and friend – Carol Lou Miller Hale, on October 7, 2025.
On September 14, 1949, Joseph Jensen and Helen Dahlberg Miller gave birth to Carol in Salt Lake City. Her youth was spent growing up with her two older sisters, until graduating from Highland High School in 1967. Soon after, Carol married her soulmate, Randall “Randy” Grant Hale, on February 14, 1969. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Carol and Randy purchased a home on Yale Avenue, where they then welcomed their three boys; Carol could not have been more proud. She and Randy enjoyed spending time with the family, especially at the Hale Family Cabin.
In June of 2002, Randy passed away and Carol became a single mother. She excelled in this new role while simultaneously advancing her career in banking. From starting at Walker Bank, to being in management at Cypress Credit Union, Carol tackled many achievements while making numerous friends along the way.
After retirement, Carol met Lanny Espinosa; he brought love and companionship back into her life. They enjoyed their time together at their home in Phoenix, while taking every opportunity to travel in their motorhome. Throughout the years, she and Lanny shared laughs, jokes, and a bond that will forever be cherished.
A lover of music, poetry, and her collections – but above all else, Carol loved her family. Being a grandmother was her “greatest achievement” and brought tremendous joy into her life.
Carol is survived by her sons – Brian Patrick Hale, Jacob McKay Hale, and Robert Joseph Hale; daughter-in-law – Brinlee Hale; grandchildren – Jada Hale, McKay Hale, Kyler Post, and Cooper Post; sisters – Nancy Winter (Richard) and Janet Evans (Lewis); many nieces and nephews; her companion – Lanny Espinosa.
Funeral services are to be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Garden Park Ward, 1150 Yale Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT, at 1:00 pm. Viewing will be from 11:30 am - 12:45 pm. The family asks in lieu of flowers to hold your loved ones and appreciate the present.

I am so sorry for your loss. Carol is my 2nd cousin but was one of my favorite. I have
always loved and admired her. Her boys and grandchildren are and will be in my prayers.
Until we see her again!
