David Brent Omer, known to his loved ones simply as Brent, passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2025, at the age of 87. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Kay, his faithful dog, Clover and loving family. Brent was born on January 28, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Norma Stark Omer and Otto P. Omer. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Cherie June Omer, who passed away in June of 1987.

Brent is survived by his wife, Kay Omer, and a loving family of 7 children, their spouses, many grandchildren and even more great grandchildren.

Brent worked tirelessly throughout his life, always providing for his family. He spent many years working for SkyWest Airlines in St. George, Utah, where he retired after a long and dedicated career. He and Kay loved their life in St. George, embracing the stunning weather, the majestic red rocks, and the warmth of the local community. A true golf enthusiast, Brent spent many hours enjoying the game he loved, often in the company of friends and family.

An active member of the LDS Church, Brent served a mission to Sweden. He later served a mission with his wife, Kay, in Houston, Texas. These experiences, along with his unwavering faith, were a significant part of his life.

Brent will be remembered for his loving, fun, and sweet nature. His sense of humor, teasing spirit, and infectious smile brought joy to everyone he met. He had a gift for making people laugh and was a constant source of light to his family and friends.

In addition to Brent’s passing, his brother, Don P. Omer, also passed away 26 hours prior, making this a time of deep sorrow and remembrance for both brothers.

I was a friend on facebook to Brent and enjoyed his many posts. Brent was a good friend to my husband Roger Murdock. When it was time to go home after church Roger could be found always talking to Brent. He was a great guy!
