Funeral Service - Recorded Services
Click "Watch Services" link belowDavid Lorenzo Gonzales, age 77, passed away in South Jordan, Utah surrounded by family on May 12, 2024. We can only imagine the celebration that took place as was reunited with his dear wife. David was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 25, 1947, the son of Andres and Anita Sanchez Gonzales.
David had many passions in life. He loved God and found great joy in serving Him and others around him. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many different activities in which he was able connect with nature and beauties around. Many of our fond and fun memories are those from our activities outdoors over the years. David enjoyed music and found joy in playing the guitar. He had the unique opportunity to carry the Olympic torch and we often referred to him as having super human strength.
David came from a large family with many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Family was important to David. They all loved him, and he loved them! David enjoyed the company of others and had great respect for anyone he would meet. His most common phase in later years to anyone who came to be with him was “I love you.” Everyone knew him as a Godly man.
David is survived by his sons Manuel (Debra), David (Brook), Joshua and Samuel. He is also survived by his wonderful 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his wife, Micky Gonzales, parents and siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11Am on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will take place prior to services beginning at 9:30. Interment will follow in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
Funeral services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend. To watch the previously held services, please click the "Watch Services" link above.
