It is with deep sadness that the family of Deborah Lee Pope Dockstader announces her peaceful passing on February 25th, 2025, at her home in Lehi, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. Deborah was born on March 8th, 1952, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Tommy Edward Pope and Jean Adair Fuhrer Pope, both of whom have preceded her in death.

Deborah grew up in Albuquerque, where she graduated from high school before pursuing her passion in cosmetology school. She was well-known for her exceptional barbering skills—particularly in men’s haircuts—and gained a loyal following thanks to her dedication, wit and attention to detail.

Deborah had a love at first sight meeting roaming the mountains in her Camaro and fairly soon after married her beloved husband, Doyle Dockstader—who passed away in 2005—Deborah moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they raised 10 children: Jodie, Doyle, Benjamin, Ellen, Thomas, Priscilla, William, Rulon, Richard, and Mary.

Throughout her life, Deborah was celebrated for three distinct passions she generously shared with others: her incredible barber skills, her deep knowledge of holistic health and healing, and her extraordinary cooking—especially her Italian and Mexican dishes. Despite her devotion to her own children, she always found the time and energy to help those around her, making lifelong friends that she cherished in every phase of her life. She was known for her compassion and giving nature and incredible sense of humor.

Deborah was an avid reader who adored basking in the sun on her back porch. Loved ones remember her most for her unwavering resilience and her ability to persevere through every challenge life presented. She is survived by her children, as well as her grandchildren: Maggie, Abriana, Kayla, Mckenzie, Rose, Candace, Owen, Silas, Emily, Wyatt, Jace, Jack, and Andi. She is also survived by her siblings David and Collette, and is preceded in death by her loving father, Tommy, beloved mother Jean, sister Donna and her granddaughter Noelle.

A Celebration of Deborah's life will be held on March 7th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Chateau, 1910 E Dimple Dell Rd, Sandy, UT 84092. A small memorial service will be held beginning at 10:15 a.m. after which all who knew her are invited to gather to share memories, company and stories over brunch and treasure the legacy she left behind.

The memorial portion of the services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend virtually.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to perform an act of kindness in Deborah’s memory or spend a moment in the sunshine where Deborah was most at peace, remembering her warm heart and powerful life-force.
