Denise Harper Jelte passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 65.
She was born in Monterey, California, attended the University of Utah, and after moving many times to different states and countries, ultimately settled with her family in Sandy, Utah. She trained to be a medical assistant and worked in that profession for over 30 years. She was known for her love of family and her kind and caring nature.
She enjoyed anything that meant spending time with her family. She loved puzzles, loved the church, and loved her family trips to Bear Lake, a tradition that started when she was sixteen.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Jelte; her children, Tonya, Jennifer (Grant), Richard (Shanae), and Brian (Josie), and her grandchildren: Jace, Carson, Millie, Jayla, Ruth, Audrey, Denver, and Lauren; and her siblings, Bruce, Karen, and Cheri. She is excited to be reunited with her parents, Denver and Lucille Harper, her brother Richard, and her little sister Nancy.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral at 11:00am, with a graveside service to follow at Eleysian Gardens. Viewings and Funeral will be held at the LDS meeting house on 8600 South 1500 East in Sandy, UT.
