Don Bingham, 96 years old, passed away at home on May 25, 2025. Don was born on March 15, 1929 in Ogden, Utah. His parents were Seymour Walter Bingham and Zoy Anderson Bingham. Don grew up in Ogden, then Salina, Utah. Don graduated Valedictorian from North Sevier Sr High School. Don worked as a projectionist at the Tower theater until he went to college. Don went to BYU on a scholarship in 1947 for one year. He returned to Salina and worked until he left for his church mission.

On Don's birthday in 1949, Don left for his mission. He served in the Spanish-American mission, which included 5 states, primarily in southern Texas, He served for 2 1/2 years. While in San Antonio, he met his future wife, Narcissa. After his mission, he remained in San Antonio so they could get better acquainted.

Don & Narcissa were married in Uvalde, Texas April 27, 1952. They were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona temple on January 22, 1953.

In an attempt to avoid the draft into the Army, Don enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. That did not stop Uncle Sam from drafting him into the Army. Don was sent to Korea in August 1952. He spent most of his time there working in Intelligence under 4 Chiefs of Staff. He rose to the rank of Sargent & was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. Don also had the responsibility of being a lay Chaplain over 300 LDS men. He was given 2 hours off every Sunday to conduct services, he served in the army for 2 years.

In 1954, Don returned to Texas, where he reunited with Narcissa & his new daughter, Brenda. The family moved to Austin, Texas so that he could attend the University of Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of

Science in Architecture. Don took his family to Waco, Texas in 1959, where Don worked as an architect for Bush & Witt. His son Brandon was born in 1957.

In 1968, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Don worked for MHT Architects. Don stayed with this firm for 50 years. Don became a partner in the firm. don designed many buildings in Utah & 5 other states, including banks, prisons, churches, warehouses, and others. Don retired in 1998. Don & Narcissa remained in SLC.

Don's interested included oil painting, photography, travel, needlepoint, miniature trains, model airplanes and reading.

Don is survived by his daughter, Brenda Plass & his son Brandon Bingham. He has one grandson, Derek Plass & 2 great grandchildren, Emma & Evan. He is also survived by 7 step grandchildren from Brandon & Patty Bingham. Don is also survived by 4 siblings: Jay Bingham, LuAnn Mayberry, Wayne Bingham, Dean Bingham & their spouses.

Don's wife, Narcissa preceded Don in death in December 2020.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday June 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1431 E Gilmer Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am.

Interment will take place at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
