Donald Dale Derbidge, 90, passed away on October 23, 2024, at his home in Kearns, Utah of natural causes. He was born on August 18, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Armstrong Derbidge, and Ida May Jones Derbidge. He married LaRae Larsen on June 10, 1954. They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on February 15, 1990.
Donald was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ, where he served in various church callings. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved going on road trips, and discovering new places. He especially loved spending summers at the Fremont River and Fish Lake. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He would always say, “His greatest accomplishments were his kids and his grandkids.” He has touched many lives and will be deeply missed until we see him again.
Donald is survived by his children, John (Valerie) Derbidge; Carolyn Gunnell; Ruth (Chuck) Calder; Sharon (Mark) Ruttenbur; Shelley (Mike) McLaughlin; Donald (Denise) Derbidge; Jeff (Karla) Derbidge; brothers, Larry Derbidge; Ross Derbidge; sisters, Margaret Derbidge; Ruth Slater; 28 grandchildren; 41 great grand children; and 1 great great grand child.
He is preceded in death by his wife LarRae; mother and father, Jack and Ida May Derbidge; brothers John, Val and Robert Derbidge; sister Carol Derbidge; mother-in-law and father-in-law Kenneth and Effa Larsen; granddaughter, Kirsten Mortensen; great grand daughter, Saige Mortensen.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday October 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 4260 W 5215 S, Kearns, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday October25, 2024 at 4260 W 5225 S from 6:00-8:00 pm. A viewing will also be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am.
