Donald “Kurt” Jamison, 62
Donald Kurt Jamison, lovingly known as Kurt, passed away at his home in Draper on March 13, 2026, following a sudden medical episode. He was 62 years old.
Kurt was born on December 7, 1963, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City to his parents, Don Lavell Jamison and Claudia Rae Fletcher Jamison. He grew up surrounded by family and carried that love with him throughout his entire life.
Kurt spent much of his career working alongside his father as an insurance agent at the family-owned agency. He took great pride in their work and valued the time they spent building a business together, before both eventually retiring.
On September 8, 1990, Kurt married the love of his life, Jo Ann Jamison, at Log Haven in Utah. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished time with family.
Kurt was deeply passionate about golf and became one of the most decorated amateur golfers in the state of Utah. Over the years, he won numerous tournaments, with his proudest achievement being the Senior State Amateur Championship in 2019, a moment he called the “highlight of his career.” Beyond golf, Kurt was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on the Utah Utes.
He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: enjoying Mexican food, soaking up warm weather, spending time with his family, and doting on the family dogs. He shared a special bond with his beloved “Puppy Boy,” Maximus, and we find comfort knowing they are reunited in heaven once again.
Kurt is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Annie; his children, Mandy, Sean, and Lacy (Lumpers) and her husband, Ben; his cherished grandchildren, CJ, Theo, and Kylie; his loving parents, Don and Claudia; and his beloved grandpups, Bonnie and Henry.
