Donna Jean Sjogren

1941 ~ 2022

Donna Jean Clark, 80, died at her residence in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 30th, 2022. She was born October 3rd, 1941 in Riverside, California, the daughter of Colin Kenneth Clark and Violet Barbara Couture.

Donna grew up in Riverside, California and graduated from Ramona High School before going on to receive her associate degree in bookkeeping from Riverside Community College. She belonged to Job’s daughters, a youth organization for girls and young women.

One of her first jobs was at March Air Force Base and the Bureau of Land Management in Riverside, California where she met her husband Ronald Erik Sjogren. They were married on March 22, 1963, and later divorced. They had two children together, Allen Erik Sjogren and Janelise Sjogren Clarke. A few years later hey moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. In the early 1970’s they moved to Ely, Nevada where she spent most of her life.

Donna initially stayed home with her children, then returned to work in accounting with Ben Hase at Kafoury and Armstrong and later with McMillan and McFee. She eventually started her own bookkeeping business “Donna’s Bookkeeping” and thoroughly enjoyed helping client’s. She continued to work prior to moving to Salt Lake City, Utah in early 2021. Donna had many interests including; volunteering during elections, assisting with estate sales, and she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for sixty years and enjoyed spending time with her sorority sisters. She also took part in the White Pine County Fair both as a judge and as a participant. She won a grand champion ribbon for her canned cherries which she displayed proudly. She spent a great deal of time with her dear friends at the Senior Center, playing canasta and going on girl’s trips. She was a fantastic cook and loved to bake and was an avid collector of antiques especially salt dips and knife rests. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, friends and all who knew her. One of her most memorable traits was her wonderful sense of humor, she made us all laugh.

Donna is survived by her children Allen Erik Sjogren and his wife Cheri Hunter, Park City, UT, Janelise and her husband Kelly Clarke, Billings, MT, grandsons Benjamin Morris (Chelsea Capley), Phoenix, AZ, Bradley Morris (Jessi Bishop), Boise, ID, Erik Sjogren, Park City, UT. In addition, she is survived by her brothers Douglas (Patti) Clark and Kenny (Marianne) Clark, Niece Jeanette Clark and Nephews Jeff Clark and David Clark. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

A private graveside service will be held at Ely City Cemetery with a celebration of life to follow from 1 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers you may make donations in her honor to White Pine County Senior Center.
