Dustin “Dusty” Watson
March 6, 1972 – November 14, 2025
Dustin “Dusty” Watson, 53, passed away on November 14, 2025. Born on March 6, 1972, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dusty was a man known for his big heart, his steady loyalty to those he loved, and the simple joys that made his life full.
Dusty is survived by his children Wesley (Estee) Watson, Eric (Beth) Watson, and his beloved daughter Jerika Watson, who was the greatest joy of his life. He was a proud grandfather to Maible, Maverick, Braxton, Kayla, and Sophy, each of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his parents, Trudy and Terry Watson; his sister, Mindy (Ron) Brooks; and his nieces and nephews Brayden, Calub, and Kristi. He is preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Watson, whom he now joins in peace.
Dusty had a passion for riding his motorcycle, finding freedom and calm on the open road. He also had a well-known love for Coca-Cola, proudly building a collection that reflected his fun and spirited personality. But above all, Dusty’s truest happiness came from being a father—especially to his “baby girl” Jerika, whom he cherished beyond measure.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Intermountain Baptist Church, located at 4770 S. 1950 W., Taylorsville, Utah. Dusty will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
Big brother, you left me way too soon. I will cherish all the memories good and bad as those memories are now what will hold me together in the darkest days ahead. Thank you for always being there for me and for all that you did for our mom. Thank you for being the best and caring Uncle to Brayden and Kristi and loving them so much you were their only Uncle and they will never forget you. Mom I grieve for you as no parent should have to endure this pain and loss of a child. He loved and cherished you. Eric, Wesley and Jerika I send you my deepest condolences as no child should have to bury their parent so soon. Your dad loved the 3 of you so much and was so proud of you. Bro may you rest in peace and watch over us left here grieving for you. I love you so much and will carry you in my heart forever. Love your baby sis! ♥️🪽
My heart goes out to those who are grieving the loss of Dustin. He was a great friend to many and an amazing, loving, protective father especially to Jerika. One night when I dropped Jerika off to Dustin I said I have a song that reminds me of you and Jerika. As he listened to to the song with tears in his eyes he said,“I love her so much, she will always be my princess no matter how old she is!”
Dustin was also an amazing friend. He would do anything for any one. He had such a big heart and cared about others. If Dustin knew you were depressed or struggling, and he wouldn’t leave your side until he knew you were in better spirits and smiling. He would always go out of his way in a heart beat to help others.
I’m saddened to know Dustin is no longer here on Earth but I know he will always be watching over his friends, family, and loved ones.
Riding in our hearts forever, your spirit is unbreakable and free. Ride with the angles, love you Dustin!”
