Together Again Forever

Lillie Anne Bradshaw, age 95, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018, of causes incident to age. She joins her eternal companion, George Blair Bradshaw who preceded her in death in 1995.

Lillie Anne was born June 24, 1922 in Rexburg, Idaho, the daughter of William "Dick" Lorenzo Young and Lillie Leota Smith. She attended East High School and the University of Utah where she earned a B.S. degree in Dietetics. She later served as head dietician at St. Mark's Hospital.

Lillie Anne was a faithful life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She met her eternal companion, Blair, at the Garden Park Ward ‚ their love for each other grew quickly. They often sent letters across town by special delivery during their working hours apart. They were married August 22, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had seven children.

The LDS Church was central to Lillie Anne's life. She served in many capacities leading or teaching in the Young Women's program, scouting, Relief Society, Gospel Doctrine classes, and as an organizer for young single adults. She served with Blair when he was called as director of the Mesa Temple Visitor's Center (1983-86). She also wrote several articles for The Relief Society Magazine that were well received.

She and Blair disbursed hundreds of copies of the Book of Mormon with their testimonies attached. She was on the Relief Society Correlation Committee, and served as a hostess and tour guide at the Relief Society Building, the Beehive House, the Family History Museum, and the Conference Center. She served in the Jordan River Temple for several years. She was passionate about genealogy, visiting the lands of her ancestry, and assembling stories and lineages as well as leading her family to accomplish a great amount of ordinance work at the Temple. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP) since 1953.

She and Blair were long-time supporters of AMICUS, BYU-Idaho, DUP, and were active participants of the Garden Park Ward Study Group that met regularly for more than 75 years.

Lillie Anne and Blair lived in Honolulu from 1950-1955, in his capacity as a representative with American Savings and Loan. They grew to love the people of the islands and their cultures. Returning home to Salt Lake City, they were active in the Indian Placement Program, welcoming four young American Indian children to their home for several years.

Lillie Anne was very creative and put her whole heart into everything she touched. She won third place in Salt Lake City's Garden Beautification Contest. She learned to oil paint. Her beautiful scenic paintings decorate the walls of her children's homes. She was passionate about creating traditions that successfully united her family over the decades including "genealogy bingo," the annual "money cake," and Easter-time "cake pull." The family was featured in the Church News on how to have a more effective Family Home Evening.

Lillie Anne is also survived by two sisters, Margaret (Gordon Jenson), Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mary Lou (Ace Ensign), Freeport, Illinois.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 27, 12 noon, at the Foothill Third Ward,1950 South 2100 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be heldFriday, January 26, 2018, 5-7 pmat Larkin Mortuary,260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah, and again10:30-11:30prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake Cemetery.
