Elizabeth Ellen Bell Lee

Elizabeth Ellen Bell Lee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 21, 1935, in Castle Dale, Utah, Elizabeth was one of seven daughters of Andrew and Zada Bell. From an early age, she displayed a love of reading that would stay with her throughout her life. Elizabeth graduated from high school and pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her career in nursing was not only a calling but also the beginning of her greatest love story—she met her future husband, Harlee A. Lee, when he became her patient. For Harlee, it was love at first sight, and their bond quickly blossomed. They were married on November 12, 1960, in Reno, Nevada, and together they raised three children, Gregory, David, and April, in Sebastopol, California.

On June 1, 1974, their family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a moment that reflected Elizabeth's deep and abiding faith.

Elizabeth was a dedicated and nurturing mother, all while working full time as a nurse. Never one to settle, she returned to school to earn her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, later serving as a hospital administrator in senior living centers across the country. Her career was marked by compassion, integrity, and a tireless commitment to the well-being of others, earning the admiration of colleagues and patients alike.

Her love for others extended far beyond her professional life. Elizabeth had a profound love for cooking—her true love language—and she found joy in feeding family, friends, and often the full time missionaries. Her garden was also a reflection of her soul—vibrant, nurturing, and full of life.

Later in life, Elizabeth and Harlee served a full-time senior mission in Santa Rosa, California, an experience that brought her immense joy and spiritual fulfillment. She loved to serve in the temple and cherished every opportunity to offer her time and talents to the Lord. In retirement, she continued to live life to the fullest—traveling the world, embracing new adventures, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Elizabeth had a rare and beautiful gift: the ability to make everyone she met feel unconditionally loved and valued. Her charisma could light up a room, and she made friends wherever she went. Her life was one of service, love, and enduring faith.

She is survived by her sister, Andrea Heaps; her three beloved children, Gregory (Kathy) Lee, David (Kelly) Lee, April (Keven) Jensen; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and countless friends and loved ones who will carry her legacy forward. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Cunningham Bell and Zada Aldrich Bell; and five of her sisters, Rowana (Joseph) Daly, Helen (Edward) Crawford, Beulah (Gus) Klekas, Marilee (William) Hedley, Geraldine (Ward) Huntington.

A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing one hour prior at 10:00 AM. All services will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah 84092.
