Gerald Lloyd Weddle Jr, 60, better known as J-Dub, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 28, 2025 at his home in Sandy, UT.

J-Dub was born March 29, 1964 to Gerald Lloyd Weddle Sr and Patricia White Weddle in Yakima, WA.

Growing up in Wapato, WA with two older sisters, JW excelled in everything he did and had a special fondness for his pony Hotshot, His dog Chess, his green stingray bike and the Green Bay Packer Football Team. He medaled in High School Golf three years in a row, taught himself how to play guitar and played in a Rock Band. He also loved to hunt, fish and water ski.

J-dub graduated from Wapato High School in 1982 and went on to attend Central WA University, worked on the family orchard and in construction before moving to Salt Lake City in 1999 where he began his career as a Project Manager for IBM and Morgan Stanley.

Above all he loved his family, friends and the six English Bulldogs who owned him over the course of his life. J-Dub lived life to the fullest and was gifted with a wicked sense of humor, a spirit of adventure, and an infectious laugh. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by father, Gerald Weddle Sr, infant brother James, brother-in-law Reid Gabbard, grandparents Dr. Harold and Mary White, Harvey and Beth Weddle.

Survivors include mother, Patricia Weddle, sisters Laura Gabbard Collins and Rita Weddle, brother-in-law Zach Collins, nieces Cotton (Jef) Ely and Echo (Caleb) Conn, great nieces and nephews, Wesley Ely, Harley Ely, Rickey Ely, Anwen Conn, Seren Conn. Also survived by the following great friends who are family to him: Jack Brandt, Lin Geis, Allen H., Carla S, Chris P, Christi R, Dan N, David R, David E, David M, Jon S, Lauren G, Emma R, Nin C, Pat T, Greg Q, Ramona B, Robert R, Steve S, Tim W, Travis S, Jerry I and Dave F.

A celebration of life dinner was held on March 16th in Sandy, Utah and the Washington State service will be the 2nd week in April.
