Glenn was born May 25th, 1943 to Patricia Jane Cole and Russell Hawthorne Eldridge in San Diego, CA. He grew up in El Cajon, CA.  Glenn met the love of his life Mary Kathleen Trittipo at the Embarcadero Club of San Diego. He was her first kiss on her 16th birthday.

He joined the Navy in 1963 and served two tours of duty on board the USS Canberra in Vietnam. He was a Radar Technician and was in-country during both tours. He returned to San Diego and married his love Mary Kathleen on March 11, 1967. They moved to San Jose, CA then eventually settled in Escondido CA in 1970 where they bought their first home for a pricey $17,000.

They were blessed with three children, Christina, Brian and Aaron. Glenn worked at Unisys Corporation as a Senior Maintenance Technician on the Implanters that created the first semiconductors. He worked there until 1994 and then International Rectifier from 1994 until he retired in 2004. Glenn had many hobbies, photography was his passion but he also enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and community theater. Glenn held the title of “Band Dad” for 6 years supporting Christina and Brian in the San Pasqual High School Band. He participated in several community theater productions with his family. While his wife made costumes, Glenn did pretty much anything else that needed to be done. Glenn and Aaron bowled in several tournaments and were Father and Son State Champions for Southern California.

Glenn was given his greatest title in 1999 when his first Grandchild was born, Grandpa “E”, was to him, his greatest achievement and title. Glenn and Kathy joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2002. They were sealed for time and eternity in 2003 in the San Diego Temple. After retiring in 2004 Glenn and Kathy were drawn to be closer to their grandkids and they moved to Utah to keep the family together. They lived in Herriman, Utah and created a home that was an amazing place for grandkids. They were in the business of spoiling kids. He served his wife tirelessly, never leaving her side until the day she passed in 2017. Glenn served in the Temple after Kathy passed away until his health would no longer allow it. Glenn was an amazing man, his life was one of service, to his country, to his family, to his community, and to his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his Sister Gwen (Dave) Seif, his three children Christina (Richard) Darby, Brian (Kaylene) Eldridge, and Aaron (Victoria) Eldridge, and 5 grandchildren, Russell (Kylee) Eldridge, Joshua Eldridge, Sarah Darby, Matthew Darby, and Jeffrey Orafa.

Preceded in death by parents Russell Hawthorne Eldridge, Patricia Jane Cole, and wife Mary Kathleen Trittipo.

Guestbook/Condolences

Dear Eldridge family, I am very sorry about your loss of your Dad. I remember him as a good neighbor. I was also a good friend of your Mom and remember him always concerned about her wellbeing. I hope and pray you will find comfort in the fact that families ARE eternal and that you will be with your parents, grandparents again. May the Lord give you that assurance. With love,
Raquel, from across the street

Dear Brothers and sister,

Glenn and Kathy were such good friends! Each time spent with them together or singly was good time. They personified concern for others, and I feel sure that the reunion when Glenn got here he is was joyful. God grant your family peace! You were blessed with wonderful parents who loved each other, those around them, and whose lives are a net credit to the word.

I love you and will miss that big grin.
Glad you are at peace and whole again. Enjoy heaven and don't worry about all of us. Gods got us right in His hands and we will be fine again after we have had time to grieve and sort thru the loss.
Sis
