  • Grant M Best 84 years of age entered enteral rest on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Point Meadows Rehab in Lehi, Utah.

    Grant was born October 31, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Mort and Dolly Best. He was the youngest of three children, two preceded in his death.

    Grant married Collen Joan Mackey in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1958 and were happily married for 63 years. Grant and Colleen had two beautiful daughter’s Shaunna and Michelle.

    Grant retired from Baker Oil and worked at Gallaher Rubber Engineering for several years. Grant was a devoted husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, and great, great grandfather. He loved to hunt and fish with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and anything outdoors. He loved to golf at Star Valley Ranch.

    He had a passion for square dancing and was an amazing square dance teacher and caller. He was quite notable for his incredible teaching skills and became well-known throughout the State of Utah and around the country. With Grant’s enthusiasm and his wife Colleen by his side, they started a square dance club in 1974, called Pioneer Squares. They were both very sociable and enjoyed meeting new people who were later called great friends.

    Preceded in death, Mort and Dolly Best, parents; Brother Ronald Best, Sister and Brother-in-law; Colleen and Vern Harward, and Daughter Michelle Ann Best.

    He is survived by his spouse Colleen Best; Daughter Shaunna (Doug) Whittier; Grand-daughter, Jessica (Jeremy) Quintana-Saxton; Grandson, Kaden Sutherland; Great-Grandchildren, Bronson (Kiya) Dupaix; Brennan Dupaix; Brayden Dupaix; Kiden Quintana and Sedona Saxton. Great-Great Grandchildren, Penelope and Archie Dupaix.

    Grant will be greatly missed by his living family and will always be remembered in their hearts.

    We are sincerely grateful to the many friends who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss.

    Funeral services will be held at Larkin Sunset Garden on Monday, February 28, 2022
