1950 ~ 2025
Guy Mecham lived his life the same way he built homes — with steadiness, integrity, and care in every detail. He was a man of deep empathy and quiet strength who faced life’s hardest lessons with an open heart and unshakable resolve.
Guy loved life — all of it. The good days and the hard ones. He believed that every challenge carried meaning and that strength was found in learning from it.
He passed away peacefully with all six of his children at his side.
For many years, Guy worked as a Self-Help Construction Supervisor with Mountainlands Community Housing Trust, helping hundreds of Utah families build their own homes. His dedication and guidance led to the completion of over a thousand homes. In 2019, he received the Bob Wells Award in recognition of his decades of mentorship and service to the community.
A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Guy coached baseball from coach pitch through high school, never missing a game. He led with calm, humor, and unwavering presence — teaching that love means showing up.
He is remembered for his compassion, his steadiness, and his ability to find beauty in both the joy and the struggle of life.
Because he hated the cold, a Celebration of Life will be held in May 2026, when the weather is warm and the world feels alive again — just the way he liked it.
