Obituary Photo for Robert Mulryan

Robert Jeremiah Mulryan Jr. passed away at home on January 5, 2016 at the age of 92. He fought hard to the very end. Bob wanted to get stronger so that he could return to church and the Midvale Senior Center. Family, church, and friends were very important to Bob and he cared deeply for all of them.

Bob was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Jeremiah Mulryan Sr. and Vivian Jane Keseler Mulryan on September 26, 1923. Bob attended Irving Elementary School where he met his wife for the first time in the 1st grade. While attending East High School, Bob was active in ROTC. Bob served in World War II from 1942 to 1946. Bob then went to the University of Utah, graduating in Radiology.

On June 20, 1953, Bob married Clydene H. Mulryan and became a father to Sarah Kellogg Bowers and Clyde Kellogg. Bob and Cly had two more children, Walter Mulryan and Roberta J. Kaneko.

Bob worked in the x-ray department at The General Hospital, The Veterans Administration Hospital for 30 years, Cottonwood Hospital for 10 years, and PDSI with his friend Bill Baker. After serving in the medical field for 50 years, Bob retired at the age of 75.

Bob did not really retire; he delivered Meals on Wheels, took painting classes, traveled to Germany, and visited many parts of the US to visit grandkids. He traveled to Alaska and many church camps with his wife and sister-in-law, Mary.

Bob has three wonderful grandchildren, Michael Kaneko (Lindsey Kaneko,) Rachael Kaneko (Mike Eames,) and Jennifer Spurlock (Clayton Spurlock.) Bob has one great grandson, Henry Spurlock who he was able to play with the last time he visited. Bob enjoyed Henry's pictures on Facebook and his great singing.

Bob was preceded in death by Robert Mulryan Sr. (Father,) Vivian Mulryan (Mother,) Jack Mulryan (Brother,) Clydene H. Mulryan (Wife,) Clyde Kellogg (Son,) and Kurk Bowers (Son-in-Law.)
