Jane Clayburn Brinkerhoff

1934 ~ 2024

Jane Clayburn Brinkerhoff passed peacefully on February 17, 2024 and returned to her heavenly home. She was born on November 25, 1934 to Frank and Edith Maria Clayburn in Midway, Utah. She was the youngest of 10 siblings and looked forward to seeing her family again since they all preceded her in death.

Jane married Duane Brinkerhoff October 7, 1950. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 5, 1971. She was a devoted wife and mother of five daughters. She valued her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Duane loved to travel and were blessed to enjoy many great adventures. She worked as a waitress and real estate agent including managing several rental houses. She was also a nanny and worked in electronics.

After her daughters were raised, they moved from Crestfield Drive and bought property in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. They went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Albuquerque, New Mexico mission, serving the Navajo people in the Four Corner region, which they loved. After their mission they built Jane’s dream home. She loved her home and the time in Mt. Pleasant. Her favorite color was turquoise, which she showcased in her decorating.

She loved boating; working in her yard; keeping her home immaculately clean; reading and movies. Some of her favorites include the Sound of Music, Thornbirds, Gone with the Wind, and all Hallmark movies. Jane loved her friends at the Brighton House Riverton Care Facility and considered them an addition to her family, calling them “my peeps”. They not only cared for her, they loved her, and she them. Jane loved participating in the daily activities, coloring pictures to give as gifts, and enjoying her meals with friends.

Jane is survived by four of her daughters: Dianne Brinkerhoff, Wendy (Brian) Wilcox, Sandra (Kirt) Larson, Suzanne Tanner, along with 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Brinkerhoff, and daughter, Patricia Perry.

Funeral services for Jane will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Larkin Mortuary - Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton, Utah. Our thoughts are with Aunt Janes family and will be watching services from our ranch in North Idaho. Please know I loved all my aunts from the Clayburn family.. Every one held a special place in my heart and Jane is no exception.. She was a wonderful and kind Aunt. Always there with a smile and hug when we met.. I appreciated seeing her at dads (Grant) funeral. Das was also looking forward to going home.. I know how Jane must have looked forward to that Clayburn reunion in heaven.. And Granma Clayburn running the show ..
I was with Dad when he passed away and was stroking his head when he took his last breath of life. For a moment he came back and looked at me with the most glorious look in his eyes, smiled and then went home.. I have no doubt.. from his last lesson to me.. That his family was right there and how happy it must be to finally go home to his parents and loved ones.. Thank you so much for being my Aunt Jane...
Well be watching virtually.. Her daughters and grand children are in our prayers..

Im so sorry I was unable to come to Aunt Jane's funeral. I loved Aunt Jane and she was always so sweet to me. I was able to Zoom the service and it was so fun hearing the stories and the life of a wonderful woman. I loved her laugh and smile. She was a ray of sunshine where ever she went. One of my favorite memories was when I was able to go to Disneyland with the Brinkerhoff family. I'm not sure how I was so lucky to get invited but I have fond memories. We went with a travel trailer. Uncle Duane and Aunt Jane and the smaller kids slept in the trailer and Diane and I slept in the car. I remember getting homesick and I started crying. Diane being concerned honked the horn and Aunt Jane came out to check on us. Instead of getting mad she comforted me and told me she used to get homesick to. That really helped. I also lost a shoe in the the ocean and again I wasn't scolded. I don't remember once getting in trouble with Aunt Jane. We made a lot of stops on the way, that was before freeways. There were alot of roadside attractions we got to see like a reptile zoo and many others. That was my only trip to Disneyland as a kid. I love all of you girls. Your parents did a great job raising you. They started off very young but you are proof they must have done alot of things right.❤
Love you all, Elise

I am so very sorry for your loss too. Our Mothers became very good friends in the short time they knew each other. They truly cared about each other! It might be true that they wanted to be together in heaven! I was lucky enough to get to know and love Jane sitting next to her at lunch and at bingo. She was always quick to share a laugh and so easy going! That's what I loved most about her!! My family was lucky last year to have her join us watching fireworks and having sparklers on the holiday. The joy on our Mom's faces was such a wonderful gift!! They were having so much fun waving the sparklers and their smiles were from ear to ear! They looked like kids enjoying themselves again!! Your Mom was always happy to see us, It was my pleasure to share a hug and kiss whenever I got to see her. Jane had such a warm and genuinely loving hug!! We thank God for the opportunity to have your wonderful Mother in our lives. She was dearly loved, maybe by more people than you know.
