Janice was born November 22, 1950 in Houston, TX to Erick George Jr. and Lois Edith Richnow. Janice passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, after a long battle with kidney disease. After nearly 6 years on dialysis her body could no longer continue. She made the brave decision to discontinue her treatment. She was surrounded by her loved ones who witnessed her transition into her Savior’s arms. Janice had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and this gave her the comfort and strength needed to make this difficult decision. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Janice was a talented musician, artist, writer, performer, seamstress, cook and DIY master. She loved helping others and was a Victim’s Advocate assisting people in crisis. She was also a Grief Share leader helping others in times of sorrow and need.
Janice held several positions in her career with her latest as VP of Policy Services at Prime Insurance for 20 years. She loved her work and was devoted to the company and her co-workers.
Janice is survived by her three children, Lynne (Bob) Kupfer, Robert (Vicki) Cortez, and Jeremy (Alicia) Cortez, as well as 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and brother Erick Richnow. Preceded in death by her parents, Lois (Richnow) Sarton and Erick George Richnow Jr. as well as her brother, Norman Frazier.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, Utah.
