Our beautiful, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Janice Jordan Hennefer, peacefully passed away May 10, 2022 surrounded by family.

Janice was born February 28, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alfred and Margaret Jordan. She was four of ten children and at an early age Janice began what would become her lifelong legacy of love and devotion to family. She graduated from East High School in 1955 and went on to marry the love of her life, “Sweet Ken” Hennefer, August 29, 1960 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised four children, Kenny, Scott, Julie and Matt. Janice was the center of her family and played an integral role in the success of her husband and children’s educational and professional attainments. Her quiet service, hard work and partnership made the life she and her family enjoyed possible.

Janice was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who served faithfully with the Primary children, Cub Scouts, Young Women and Relief Society. Her faith in God was beautiful. Her testimony of the Gospel and the tender prayers she offered were filled with hope, love and faith.

Janice is survived by her husband Ken; sons Kenny (Sanna), Scott (Mindi), Matt (Cindy); son-in-law Randy Everett; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters Faye Wade, Laraine Darby, Kathy White, Susan Jordan, Christine Sessions; brothers Ted Jordan and David Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Julie Everett; brother Bill Jordan; and sister Barbara Bennett. Janice was truly loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. She was one of the special people in this world and we know her legacy of love will continue beyond this life.

There will be a viewing for Janice on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM; a viewing on Thursday May 19, 2022, from 9:30-10:45 AM with funeral to follow at 11:00 AM. All services and interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.

We wish to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Intermountain Hospice. Their expertise, kindness and actions provided great comfort to Janice and her family.

Dear Hennefer Family, my heart goes out to you at the passing of dear Janice. Janice and Ken will always have a dear place in my heart as they allowed me, their niece, to come live with them one summer as a 13/14-year-old. I had a great time hanging out with my cousin Julie (we were less than 2 weeks apart in age) and felt so welcome into their home.

Even knowing that she is no longer suffering, that she's had a sweet reunion with family, the heart still hurts. I pray that you will feel God's arms around you during this time. Sure do love your dear family!

Sad to read this news Ken. I only met your beautiful wife one time but knowing you instantly made me like her. Thank you for the years you made my life better and I wish for your comfort and peace.
