Listen to Obituary
Jaxen Ray Christensen was born on January 10th, 2014 to his loving parents Cory and Magdalena Christensen. Jaxen passed away on March 28th, 2025 after a horrific but courageous 22 month battle against osteosarcoma cancer.
From his first day on earth, Jaxen brightened any room he entered with his beautiful smile and precious doe eyes. He had the ability to wow people with his wit and charisma. Jax was a one of a kind human who had all the facts on any subject that came up in conversation. He was not afraid to tell you when your facts were actually just opinions.
Jax was the most caring animal lover and dog owner. He often reminded us that humans didn’t deserve cute creatures or beautiful nature because all humans did was destroy the earth. He was constantly loving on his dogs, Poptart and Nesta, and singing to them. He was very gifted in taking any song and remixing it to fit his puppies.
Jaxen had many hobbies. He was a master lego builder, talented Minecraft gamer, and a blue advance belt in Karate. He was able to earn his green belt after his hardest test of all, stage 4 cancer. Jaxen also was a very talented and creative artist. He hoped to grow up to make movies that made others happy and motivated people to be kind.
Jax was an extremely kind friend to all. He was very inclusive and made sure that anyone around him felt loved and cared for. He never had enemies. In fact, quite the opposite. He created a friend group called the Squirrel Squad and would personally invite his classmates to this friendship group. They considered him the squirrel king. He could bring any group of kids together and help them all get along. Jaxen’s favorite animal happens to be squirrels. He always let us know it was because they could get out of sticky situations.
He had a love for traveling and vacationing with his family. He truly cherished Kanab, UT the most out of all locations he ever traveled too. He loved hiking there, checking out the coral sand dunes, and exploring the Kaibab with his siblings. Nature was his happy place. He enjoyed the wildlife and the sounds it offered. It was calming to him. He also very much enjoyed spending time in Kanab with his great-grandparents.
Jaxen loved everyone who showed him kindness and affection. He led by example in treating others with respect. Jaxen had the biggest heart in our household, and honestly in both the Christensen and Licea families. He could vibe with any cousin, no matter the age. He would play with babies, act older with his siblings, and have mature conversations with aunts and uncles. He is leaving the biggest hole in our hearts and we will spend the rest of our lives living like Jaxen would.
We are grateful for the oncology teams both in Salt Lake City and in Cleveland. We will never forget our oncologists, who cried with us when things took a turn for the worse. Our radiology team at Huntsman Cancer Institute who helped control his tumor pain and treated him with so much kindness. The amazing nurses and techs on the 4th floor of Primary Children’s Hospital who not only took care of our boy, but held us and cried with us when we were given difficult news. A special thanks to Nixonstrong Foundation for helping us lay Jaxen to rest the way he deserves, and for having supported us throughout the last 2 years. We are equally grateful to Millie’s Princess Foundation for supporting us through this trial.
Jaxen was greeted in heaven by his great-grandpa, Leon Whitney Christensen, aunt Brenda Christensen, and great-grandma Judy Ann Tackett. He is survived by his parents, Cory and Maggie Christensen, siblings Ryder Cederholm, Shayden Christensen, and Sophia Christensen. Fur siblings Poptart and Nesta. Grandparents Bryant and Tammy Christensen, Beto and Maggy Licea. Uncles and aunts: Tyson (Abbey) Christensen, Dustin (Ja’tem) Christensen, Brian Licea, and Daniela Licea. He will be missed by cousins Navy, Claire, Culver, Ace, Jude, and Magnolia Christensen.
A Celebration of Life for all to celebrate Jaxen will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at The View Event Center, 11649 South 4000 West Unit 310 in South Jordan, Utah. So sorry for your loss my God Bless you always
Hello! My sincere condolences. I've been following you for a while, and it's been a truly sad time for me, thinking about Jax and your family. "Two of Us" is a song I recommend. May everything be as pleasant as possible. Lots of love, greetings from Argentina.
I did not have the honor of knowing Jaxen in person, but I found him and your family trough Brielle and have followed you since.
Mi corazón duele por toda su familia, mis más sinceras condolencias, el mundo perdió a un niño hermoso, noble y con un gran corazón por una enfermedad que parece no importarle lo suficiente a nadie.
I send you all the courage and love possible. Sweet thoughts to heaven. Thoughts from France.
