Celebration of Life

The Chateau at Le Jardin, 1910 Dimple Dell Rd, Sandy, UT 84092

Thursday Dec 5, 2024 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Thomas Bryant, age 71, on November 21, 2024, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born in Offenbach, Germany, on August 4, 1953, to Cecil and Inge Bryant, Jimmy was raised in San Jose, California, alongside his four siblings.

Jimmy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Lori, and a proud and loving father to his daughters, Catrina and Crystal, and his son, Travis. He was also a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren who gave him the name “Peepa”: Alexander, Andrew, Caitlyn, Eric, Lillian, and Miko. A new grandchild is on the way, continuing his legacy of kindness, strength, and his infectious sense of humor.

In 1972, Jimmy answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Over the course of his distinguished 23-year career, he traveled the world on multiple deployments, earning the respect of his peers and the admiration of those who served alongside him. After retiring from the Navy in 1995, Jimmy then started a new career path at Salt Lake Valley Buick GMC, where he was known for his integrity, work ethic, and the kindness he extended to everyone around him.

Above all, Jimmy will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, his gentle spirit, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of compassion, humor, and loyalty will live on in his children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Lori; his children, Catrina (Shane), Crystal (Jeff), and Travis (Ashley); his sister, Shirley (Mike); his grandchildren: as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Inge, his brothers, Frank and Roy, and his sister, Ellen.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held on December 5th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah, in the Chateau greenhouse, 1910 Dimple Dell Rd, Sandy, UT 84092.

Jimmy’s spirit will forever be a guiding light to those who loved him.

Most times Jim and I got together, we were gathered around Shane's barbecue. He was extremely fun to talk to. Just talking and enjoying the summer day. He always had a smile and laugh. I have good memories of a very good man. You will be missed...

I am sad I didn’t not get to see Jim again. He was a like an uncle to me when best friends with Catrina as children and young teens. They took me in for months when I needed to be away from home for a time. He knew how to annoy us but make us laugh at the same time. He was patient even when we were very loud!! I knew if I could not reach my parents he would be there if needed. I will always be thankful and miss the long chats we had and video game wars (Tetris and Dr Mario when I was supposed to be studying algebra). He was a great person and am sure bring grandpa brought him great joy!

Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Jimmy and I spent many years together in the Navy. We met each other while we were stationed on Recruiting Duty in Salt Lake City. We play co-ed softball for many years and had a blast. He always had a laugh that was contagious and truly love being around people and never had a bad word about anything. Anchors Away shipmate. See you on the other side.
