Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joann Galasso who went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025, in the early morning hours. Joann was born in Salem NJ to Rita and the late Vito Galasso. At a young age, she moved to Newark DE with her family, sisters Lily and Trina Galasso, and her parents. Joann attended St. Marks and Dickenson HS. After she graduated, she married John Eveland III, who pre deceased her. Joann is survived by a son, John Eveland IV of Bradenton FL, Elyse Victoria Eveland of Aurora CO, her sisters, Lily Galasso Johnson (Glenn), of Sarasota FL, and Trina Fuller (Tom) of Aurora CO, her mother Rita Gordon of Sarasota FL and her nephew Zachary and niece Miah Fuller of Aurora Co. She is also survived by 4 cousins and their families in NY State.

After a long illness, the Lord helped Joann get the best care at a Respiratory Rehab in Provo, UT. At the Provo Rehabilitation Center she thrived with activities including Bingo, Book Club, Cooking Class, and Arts and Crafts to keep herself busy while making great memories and good friendships.

She was known to visit the gym to cheer others on, to reach their therapy goals, cheer up her friends when they were down, and make cards and ornaments as gifts. Joann spoke highly of the staff who cared for her and made a big difference in the quality of her life.

We will miss the daily video chats in which she shared her life with us. We will miss Joann’s love, her concern for others and her gentle spirit. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

My child hood and memories were entwined with Joann as nextdoor neighbors and best friends growing up. I will miss her soul deep. I know she’s no longer in pain and is at peace. My deepest sympathy goes out to her children, sisters and her mom Mrs. Rita who was like a second mom to me. May Joann’s memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
