Juan Antonio Adorno, 84, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024. He was born on February 8, 1940, in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, to Justina Adorno. On March 17, 1976, he married the love of his life, Juanita Ramona Santellana Caballero, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Juan was known for his kind and generous heart and a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He loved to draw pictures of palm trees on the beach—beautiful reminders of his cherished Puerto Rico. His favorite things in life were simple and full of love: gardening, spending time with his pets, listening to music, being with his family, and starting each day with a good cup of coffee. His daily coffee ritual was something he looked forward to, a small moment of joy and comfort that always started his mornings on the right note.
He worked for many years at LSG Sky Chefs, helping stock Delta flights with supplies, including his favorite—those tiny bottles of alcohol. When he wasn’t working, Juan could often be found humming along to his favorite tunes, watching Telemundo or wrestling, or cooking up something delicious in the kitchen. As the family chef, he made sure everyone was taken care of.
Juan’s kindness was unmatched. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it, and he believed strongly in treating others with love and respect. He often reminded his family that there’s no place for hate in this world. What he treasured most was time spent with his loved ones—nothing made him happier than being surrounded by family.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy Rose (Rory) Garrett, and his two grandchildren, Trey Garrett and Gwendolyn Garrett. He was preceded in death by his mother, Justina Davila Colon; his wife, Juanita Adorno; and his daughter, Gloria Caballero.
The family will be holding a private service at a later date. Juan’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and every cup of coffee will serve as a warm reminder of his thoughtful, loving spirit.
