Kalolaine Tokomea Halai, returned back to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the University of Utah Hospital surrounded by an abundance of family and love. Born on July 2, 1977 in the LDS hospital to her parents Siaosi & Elisiva Halai. She was later adopted to her parents Eleveni & Tilema Latu.
Kalolaine loving known as Kalo or Kae Jaye fought a long courageous battle of Lupus through a majority of her adult life. Kalolaine’s resilience and independence was unmatched as she was a consistent reminder that no matter how hard one falls, you always have an opportunity to get back up. She lived her life to the fullest, head held high, with no regrets.
Kalolaine was selfless, loving & wise beyond measures. Although Kalolaine had her own fight of lupus she never hesitated to be that “safe place” by being a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. Passing no judgment of any kind to all around her, offering knowledge and guidance even if it was something we didn’t want to hear as she was as blunt as they come.
Kalolaine’s life was centered by family as she was blessed with two Halai & Latu who both loved her unconditionally. She will be lovingly remembered by countless family.
She was preceded in death by both sets of Grandparents, Halatapu & Mele Halai and Hateni & Ana Latu, parents: Siaosi & Elisiva Halai, Eleveni Latu, siblings: Penisimani & Pipiena Halai.
Funeral Services will be held Friday October 3, 2025 at the Rose Park Stake Center, 1155 N 1200 W, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family program will be held from 11:00 am-1:30 pm with the Bishop's service to follow from 2:00-3:00 pm.
