Karen Jo Case (Elkins)

Karen Jo Case (Elkins) passed away April 24, 2024. Karen was born to Carol Gay Patten and Carlos D Elkins on February 29, 1956 in Tooele, Utah. She loved to joke about her leap year age and youthfulness at every birthday.

Karen opened her heart and her home to everyone. Especially her 5 adopted children and any cat she could get her hands on! She worked various jobs for Utah State Government including, Social services. However, she would tell you her best job was “retirement and grandchildren.” She enjoyed putting memories together and was the light in any room.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and stepfather Herbert W. Leamer (Dad). She is survived by daughter Amanda E. Griffin, Son-in-law Levi Griffin, and grandchildren Abilene and Graham, whom she loved “To The Moon and Back!”; as well as sisters Nancy L. (Alan) Glaser and Robyn J. Leamer and her "kids".

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 4, at Noon. A viewing will take place Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm. All services to take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South (Dimple Dell Road) in Sandy, UT 84092. Following the services there will be a Celebration of Life/After Party at 184 Lakeview Stansbury Park UT 84074. All are welcome!

We will miss her humor and big heart, but she is forever in our hearts. Give 'em Hell, Karen. “What a ride!” We love you Mom!
