Karen Ruth Wathen Wilfong, 79, our mother, grandmother and friend passed away September 1, 2022.
Born April 6, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Daughter of Henry and Cora Wathen, sister of Victor Henry Wathen and Wanda Wathen Williams.
Karen’s pleasures in life were found in the service of others, the moments with her family and friends, playing her tablet games: ‘Hay Day’ and ‘Farmville’, crocheting, watching and commenting on her loved one’s adventures on Facebook. Karen spent most weekends with her best friend Dee playing cards, bingo and her slot machines in Mesquite and Wendover, Nevada.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Ostler Hansen (Dale), Julie Ostler Fronk (Earl), her son Robert “Bobby” Henry Ostler (Leticia); 25 grandchildren and spouses; 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandbabies on the way and her dear friend, Diana “Dee” Proveaux.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. A family viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. and graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m..
I love you so much mom, I know that your in a better place and your not hurting anymore you have you health back. You will be missed more that you know. I hope you are have a Gin and Tonic, and your whiskey and water. I know you’re with your family with Jim you’re well loved and your home.I think about you everyday and I will forever. I LOVE YOU MOM
