Kathryn Adair Marshall was born in Mesa, Arizona on September 14, 1952 to Milton L. and Dorothy Jean Adair. She passed away in Salt Lake City on June 23, 2024 at the age of 71.

Kathie married Stan Marshall (later divorced) and they have one son, Brad Marshall.

She is survived by her son Brad (Rebecca) Marshall and brother Jim (Jungyum) Adair, Niece Nicole (Matt) Parkin, Nephew Ian (Fran) Adair, granddaughter Carly (Tim) Boulton, Kyra Marshall, grandson Dalton (Sophie) Marshall, step grandchildren Bridger Stone, Maverick Stone, Olivia Stone, and numerous cousins and one aunt. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and brother Scott Adair.

Kathie worked for many years in the court system. She enjoyed the work and interacting with lawyers and became close friends with several of them. She earned a Paralegal certificate from Westminster College.

After working in the courts, she was appointed to the position of City Recorder for Salt Lake City by Mayor Ted Wilson. She managed the City Recorder office in the City and County Building. One of her responsibilities as Recorder was to apply her signature to municipal bonds when the city issued them. She traveled with other officials to New York City numerous times for bond signings and really enjoyed the experience. She always loved New York. She also served on the board of directors of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks as representative for the Western states.

Kathie had a great sense of humor and was so much fun to be with. She especially enjoyed family get-togethers. She was thoughtful and always remembered birthdays and anniversaries and would send greeting cards for almost every conceivable holiday. She was so generous and loved giving thoughtful gifts during the holidays and for birthdays.

Kathie loved her family and friends very much and will be greatly missed.

The Marshall Family will be hosting an Open House on July 5th at Larkin Mortuary, located at 260 E. South Temple Street in Salt Lake City. Open House from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
