We mournfully announce the passing of, Kevin Ross Sorensen, 64, of Herriman, UT. After sustaining brain trauma, he peacefully passed away on July 14th, 2021.

Kevin was born on September 5th, 1956, to Twilla H. and Fred R. Sorensen in Salt Lake City, UT. After graduating from Murray High School in 1974, Kevin continued his education at Utah Tech, gaining an Associate Degree in Auto Repair, and eventually became the Owner of Sorensen Auto Repair. Later, he worked for Wonder Bread Hostess Cake, as a Route Driver, and then moved on to Allstate Insurance, as a Claims Adjuster.

Kevin had a love for NASCAR, Auto Racing, and going fast in his sand rails, or ATVs, and loved anything mechanical with the ability to fix anything. He always enjoyed spending time with his family at Bear Lake or camping in the beautiful mountains of Utah and surrounding areas. Kevin also had a love for Paintball; coaching his children to play from a young age, and eventually growing the paintball scene in Utah. He had a passion for guiding and teaching the youth in the neighborhood, and along with his Son, Nicholas, they started and owned Ballistic Paintball.

He was married to his beautiful wife, Pam, for 42 years. It was a journey, and one they would do again in a heartbeat. It wasn’t always perfect, but they sure were great! They went on to have 3 amazing children, Nicholas, Aimee, and Amanda.

He is survived by his wife, Pam; Children, Nicholas (Jamie), Charlotte, NC; Amelia (Steven), Herriman, UT; Amanda (Tyler) Anderson, Herriman, UT; Bonus Son, Scott Johnson (Taushae); Grandchildren, Damon (McKell), McKenzie, Evan, Kaden, Karsen, Bentlee, Hartlie, Everett, Arvella, and Berlin. Siblings: brother, Kim (Cindy), Murray, UT, sister: Karon (Larry), Las Vegas, NV, and sister: Kristen (Kent), Salem, UT.

Kevin is preceded in death by his mother, Twilla; two Grandsons, Harley & Kameron; aunt VaNile Forkner & Pat Hancey; grandparents, Ross & Cleone Sorensen; Ross & Elsie Hancey.

Services will be held this Saturday, July 17th, 2021. There will be a brief visitation at Larkin Mortuary, in Riverton, UT (3688 W 12600 S), from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Followed by a Graveside service, being held up at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E. Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, UT) at 11:00 am.

    Dear Sorensen family,
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss of this great guy. Kevin and I were best friends growing up. Fred and Twilla were very patient trying to teach me to water ski at Bear Lake as a kid. (I insisted on wearing three life jackets to make sure I didn't sink, while Kevin wore a single life belt and did dock starts without even getting wet.) We had many good times working on muscle cars and snow skiing in the winter. We put a hole in the front of Fred's boat on our high school graduation trip to Flaming Gorge, but that didn't seem to bother Kevin too much, knowing that his Dad could easily fix it. We didn't see each other much after high school. but it sounds like he remained the great guy he always was. May the memory of that ionic smile comfort you in these difficult times.

    Pam,

So sorry, what a shock. Sorry I didn't make it to the service or viewing.
A similar thing happened to one of my former Seminary students in Pa.
You kids were always such good, fun neighbors.
Jae has been gone 9 plus years.
I hope to see you one day. Catch up on your family.
My five girls were all home for a short visit. First time all together at once.
    For a long while.
