Kierra Dawn McCafferty

Kierra Dawn McCafferty was born at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charlotte Joyce Allen and Robert Kerry McCafferty on February 8, 1984. She passed away early Saturday morning, on March 28, 2026 surrounded by family.

To know Kierra was to love her. She accepted everyone unconditionally and was never quick to judge. Those who became her friend remained one for a lifetime. Kierra always spoke highly of her family and friends and took pride when given the opportunity to help them in times of need. She knew how to brighten a room with her unique sense of humor. It was random, unexpected and without apology.

Kierra was a mischievous and loving child, pushing boundaries and exploring life. Many knew her as someone who loved out loud. She cherished dancing, laughing and being surrounded by her people. She treasured spending time at the lake or pool on various family trips over the years. Kierra enjoyed relaxing at the spa and often spent time with her daughter during their many “girls day” outings getting manicures and pedicures. She took pride in cooking healthy delicious meals and loved teaching her daughter to cook even more. Kierra had a soft spot for animals. They connected with her emotional side and were such a support to her. Over the years she had many dogs and rats that she loved beyond measure.

Kierra is survived by her lovely and extremely intelligent daughter, Lilyanna McCafferty, her fiancé Shawn Black, her brother Damon McCafferty (Stacy), her sister Tianna McCafferty (Dave Sutton), her mother Charlotte Allen, her close cousin Melissa McCafferty, her Aunt Sandra Royter (Kierra’s second mom throughout life), and many other cousins, niece, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Kierra is preceded in death by her dad Robert Kerry McCafferty, Uncle David Leroy McCafferty, Uncle Roy Gordon Royter, and her Grandparents.

An open house will be held at the church located at 1265 East 11000 South, Sandy, Utah on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 6-8pm. Light refreshments will be available.

In lieu of flowers we are requesting family and friends bring a written memory or story sealed in an envelope to be given to her daughter Lily.
