It is with shattered hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kyle Robert Freeman. He passed away in the early morning of June 17, 2025. Kyle was born on February 17, 1993 in St. George, Utah to Lori Jean Freeman and Robert Bingham Freeman. With 3 older brothers and 5 older sisters, Kyle would often tell his parents they had to keep trying until they had the perfect child.
His compassion and love for others was so endless, he made every situation an enjoyable one because he couldn’t stand to see others in pain. Along with his undying love for his family and friends, Kyle had a passion for adventure, athletics, and the outdoors. This involved Kyle participating in as many sports as possible including, basketball, football, soccer, mountain biking, and, in more recent years, golf. Mountain biking seemed to capture his whole heart more than anything as it provided the adrenaline junkie with plenty of thrill, challenge, and a soaring freedom. As such, he has participated in many events and races hosted by the Red Bull Rampage in Virgin, Utah where he truly thrived and found himself at home.
On January 15, 2017, Kyle and his previous wife had their beautiful baby girl Violet. She instantly had Kyle wrapped around all 10 of her tiny little fingers.
On July 17th, 2018, Kyle began dating Melissa Banks who he would often refer fondly as his “Queen”, whom he married on February 26, 2024. True to his nickname for her, Kyle truly worshiped Melissa. He shared his love for his spirited bonus-son, Cason, whom he welcomed as his own with pride, and dedication. On August 24, 2021 Kyle and Melissa welcomed their Viking baby, Asher Freeman. Asher has truly captured Kyle’s rambunctious spirit and heart- breaking smile. Kyle loved paddleboarding, riding bikes, playing sports, and having movie nights with his children.
Kyle was preceded in death by his brother Robert Eugene Freeman, and his grandparents; Betty JoAnn Beck Freeman, Dean LaVon Freeman, and Dennis Henry Butler. He leaves behind a trail of heartbreak from his wife Melissa Banks Freeman, his children Cason Cole Banks (12), Violet Freeman Davey (8) and Asher Freeman (3). Grandmother: Bonnie Anne Butler, parents; Lori Jean and Robert Bingham Freeman, siblings; Misty (Nate) Miller, Justin Freeman, Jade (Corey) Newman, April Myers, Ashley (Nate) Spendlove, Christopher (Tracy) Myers, and Jessica (Thomas) Sorenson, his in-laws and multiple nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held for Kyle at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd. Sandy, UT 84092 on Friday June 27, 2025 from 11am-1pm. A celebration of life service is TBA.
Ride in peace, brother. Our hearts will never beat the same without you. We will hold on to your memory fondly forever and always.
My heart breaks for all who loved Kyle. His family was also my family too. I know he had a deep and ever lasting love for his sisters and brothers. He had such a sparkle in his eyes when he teased them and they teased back. Such a mischievous bunch. I am deeply sorry for my friend and mother to Kyle. I can't imagine the pain and sorrow both parents have to endure with this loss. Also to Melissa and the boys including Violet, my heart goes out to you too. I hope all who knew him, will smile because of the memories shared. He will be missed., ❤️
