Larry Louis Campbell was born on July 15th, 1944 to his parents Virginia and Lewis Campbell in Ogden Utah. Larry passed away on September 6th, 2024.

Larry grew up on a farm in Plain City and South Ogden. After graduating from Bonneville High-School in 1962, he was accepted to the Electrical Engineering program at Weber State College in Ogden Utah, where he met his sweetheart Paulette. He shared his wedding day to Paulette and graduation from University of Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering on June 11,1966. Larry and Paulette welcomed their 1st child, Nicole on February 24, 1970. He then continued in finishing his Doctorate program at University in Utah in Fiber Optics/Ring Laser, graduating Magna Cum Laude in the summer of 1970. When offered a position working with laser communications at the C.I.A. in Langley, Virginia, Larry and Paulette packed up their new little family and moved to Reston, Virginia (Washington D.C. area). They then welcomed their 2nd daughter, Brandi on June 25, 1972. Following his career with the C.I.A., Larry had several telecommunication ventures including extensive teaching/lecturing throughout the United States, Europe and specifically at George Washington University. Larry branched out to create his own company; LICOM in the early 80s, where it grew to over 200 employees. On June 11, 1981, Larry, Paulette, Nicole and Brandi entered the Washington D.C. temple and was sealed as an eternal family. Larry and Paulette then welcomed their 1st son, David, on November 14,1981 and a few years later welcomed the “baby of the family”: Aaron, on May 21,1984 . He completed his professional career as an expert witness in the telecommunications arena, including such companies as AT&T and Verizon.

Being from Utah, Larry loved and explored the beautiful mountains and terrain of Utah including water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, camping, scuba diving and biking. His love for the outdoors was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He reveled in teaching others, he had so much knowledge to offer his family and the world. His family could always count on him to wake us up at the crack of dawn for house projects including cleaning out all the critters from the pool filters in the backyard pool in Virginia through rental property renovations in the Avenues. He loved projects and “doing them right”. He had many church callings including Gospel Doctrine teacher, and years of activity chairman/emergency preparedness coordinator for the Monument Park Stake. He was the Scout Master, where he assisted in teaching young men, including his two sons, David and Aaron, to earn their Eagle scout. He loved to explore all the world had to offer. He stayed curious his entire life. He was not one to sit still for any amount of time; there was always something that could be done or achieved. Larry’s greatest gift he freely gave to anyone and everyone was his selflessness and acts of service. No one had a giving heart bigger than his. From all his life experiences and vast knowledge in so many areas, he exemplified and taught through example to his family and all those who knew him; the amazing beauty of the world. Oh how he will be missed. We will treasure each and every memory and life lesson learned from this great man. We will miss you so much Papa/Larry. Until we meet again……

Dear Paulette & Family,

Times with Larry will always remain a good memory in my mind and.heart. I will always remember him asking me whether a certain property was a good investment and my reply was if he didn't go for it I would. He did & it was vvery successful. The Journey began!

God bless you Larry.
