Laura Jean Pieros Neilson Bult was born in Salt Lake City, Utah February 19, 1931. Her parents were James John Pieros and Louise Barfuss Pieros. James came to America from Greece when he was approximately 16 years old. He came over by himself. He ended up in Utah where he met
Louise Barfuss. They were married and had 4 children, Pauline, Laura, Jimmy, and George. Her sister Pauline lives in Salt Lake City, the brothers are deceased.

Laura grew up in the Avenues, then moved to the Sugarhouse area near Liberty Park. She attended South High School. She was a model for ZCMI and other stores. She got a job at the Federal Reserve Bank and learned the banking business. She married Jack Neilson and had two daughters, Christie and Lori. After divorce, she went into real estate while raising her girls alone. She was such a strong Mom! And very humorous! She would tap dance in the kitchen. As the girls became more independent, she started interior design with Judkins Co. in Salt Lake City. She would help people pick their blinds and draperies. She had a stylistic way about her. She met Gordon Bult and they married in 1970. Every time Chris would have her boyfriend Neil over, she would let go a huge burp saying “Julius LaRosa” and then blame Gordon! After that, she became the first sales person for Morris Travel. She and Gordon traveled the world for several years until retirement. Gordon passed away in 2015. Laura moved to Sunrise of Sandy in 2015 and enjoyed living there until her death. She always wanted to die in her sleep in her own bed. And that’s what she did! She passed away on July 2, 2021. She was 90 years old.

You could always count on Laura to meet you at one of her favorite Mexican restaurants to enjoy guacamole and chips, chicken enchiladas, refried beans, no rice, and the house marguerita. She would always ask for extra sauce and extra cheese!
