Lois Jeanne Vincent Senior

1927 ~ 2022

Our sweet Mom, Grandma, Sister and Friend, Lois Jeanne Vincent Senior, passed away on September 8th at 94 ¾ years old.

Lois was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on December 2, 1927 to Daniel and Hulda Vincent. Lois attended South High School where it was in her high school years that she was introduced to her sweetheart, Rowland Clement Senior. After his service in the Navy during World War II, Lois and Rowland were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 9, 1949. They were happily married for nearly 72 years when Rowland passed away from throat cancer in December of 2020. They were the love of each other’s lives and were blessed with an everlasting and eternal love. Lois and Rowland were blessed with 4 children and raised their family in the Rose Park area.

Mom loved to bake, was an excellent seamstress, and loved to work in her award-winning yard with her garden being the envy of the neighborhood. Her Grape Ambrosia ice cream was her friends and family favorite and a KSL Radio award winner. Mom loved people! She could talk to anyone and made friends wherever she would go. She has friends across the globe.

Mom was a talented pianist and received her greatest enjoyment accompanying dad as he sang. Dad had a beautiful baritone voice and between the two of them their performing talents blessed the lives of many people including their own children. Their talents complimented each other perfectly.

After retirement, Mom and Dad served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as Membership Missionaries. Mom also served in the Salt Lake Temple for 15 years, up to the age of 87, as an organist in the chapel and taking calls for the prayer roll. Mom served in many ward and stake callings.

Mom and dad loved to travel and visited several countries across the world. They also loved to camp and spend time in the mountains out among nature. Mom and Dad continued to camp up to the age of 88, and had a hard time giving it up!

Mom was ever thankful, enduringly faithful and loved God and her Savior Jesus Christ. Mom was a loyal wife, a fun packed Grandma and the BEST MOM EVER!! We love you Mom and Dad and are so excited for you to start singing and playing together again and making beautiful harmony!

Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rowland C. Senior, her parents Daniel and Hulda Vincent, her siblings Ruth Gritton, Harris Vincent, Norma Wilding, and Elaine Hermansen. She is survived by her brother Robert Vincent. She is also survived by her children; Lynne Tolman (Glen), Jayne Johnson (Greg), Mary Lois “Marn” Coles (Mike), and David Senior (Shelly). Together they have 24 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A loving thanks to the many attentive and loving aides and employees from Barton Creek Senior Living that have helped Mom. A special thanks to Braden and Valorie. A deep heartfelt thank you also to Mom’s incredible Bristol Hospice aides and nurses, Ariel and Jamie. They tenderly and lovingly blessed Mom’s life for nearly 2 years. May each of you be as blessed as the blessings that we have received from your loving care.
