Margo Evans Homer, born December 28, 1939, daughter and only child of Hyrum Lavern and Lucille Beesley Evans passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 11, 2024.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Michael M. Homer and her four daughters: Kristina A. (Homer) and Robert B. Blake, Diana K. (Homer) Gardner, Minda L. (Homer) and Robert C. Kjar, Julia L. (Homer) and Russell T. Jeffery. She leaves a legacy of 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Margo graduated from South High School and married her beloved husband Mike on September 19, 1958. They were sealed a year later for eternity in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. Margo worked in the retail business most of her life, starting at age 14 at Auerbach’s and later for Weinstock’s and Dillard’s. She was generous to all who knew her and served in the young women’s organization for many years. A voracious reader, she also enjoyed having her dogs nearby and was fastidious about keeping a clean home and a cabin retreat at Bear Lake. Together, Margo and Mike enjoyed traveling throughout many parts of the US, Europe and Asia and retired to Logan in 2000 before returning to Salt Lake.

Services will be held at the LDS chapel at 4395 S Albright Drive, Holladay, UT on Saturday, February 24, at 1:00pm. A visitation will be held at the same location on February 24 from 11:30am to 12:45pm. We appreciate the care given to our sweet mother by nurses, family, and funeral directors.

The service will be livestreamed via Zoom and can be accessed by clicking the "Watch Services" button above. Funeral arrangements provided by Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E 1300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84108.

Margo was my best friend as we grew up on Capitol Hill and later at South High together. I’m glad to know she has a wonderful family.

I am sorry to hear about Margo. We grew up together on Capitol Hill attending Lafayette Elementary. We spent many happy hours roaming the capitol grounds and attending primary together. Our friendship renewed later at South High. My daughter Nancy Poulsen was friends with her in Logan also. I wish we had been in touch in later years. Much love to your family. Love. Susan
