Mark Leon Walker passed away on September 11th, 2025. He was 82 years old.
Mark was born in American Falls, Idaho on March 9th, 1943 to Basil Walker and Thelma Danks Walker. He was the oldest of eleven brothers and sisters. He grew up in Rockland, Idaho where his family had a farm, and cows that were milked twice a day. The milk they produced was sold throughout Idaho. He was also a prolific ballroom dancer, and performed extensively with his siblings.
Mark served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was called to serve in what was then known as The Eastern Atlantic States mission, covering an area throughout Washington D.C. and Maryland.
Mark worked in various industries throughout his life, including real estate, sales, the burgeoning internet in the late 90s and early 2000s, and most recently the automotive industry, having worked for Strong Audi.
He met and married Laraine Moon Walker in 1972 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They would have celebrated 53 years of marriage on October 13th, 2025. They were blessed with four children - John, Megan (husband Curtis), Bethany, and Wesley - four grandchildren - Cheyenne (husband Kyle), Cameron, Cydney, and McKenzey - and two great grandchildren (children of Cheyenne and Kyle): Kennedy and Kole.
Mark was the oldest of eleven children. His brothers and sisters are: Irene Marshall (deceased, husband Gary), Corland Walker (wife, Susan), Anita Lewis Gunter (deceased), Twayne Walker (wife Sharon “Bug”), Diane Dulgarian (husband Dean), David Walker (wife Bonnie), Paula Toland (husband Dennis), Robin Walker, Nyal Walker (wife Liz), and Tina Prince John (husband Curt). He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, September 20th at the Millstream Ward located at 3400 S 1100 E, Salt Lake City, UT. There will be a viewing from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM.
