    Michael Boman Alston, age 67, passed away on July 9, 2021 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Mike was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Nov. 26, 1953 to Cora Boman Alston and Quentin L.R. Alston. Mike graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Technology Management Diesel Mechanics Technology Emphasis from Utah Valley University. He married Pamela Jo Boogaard on July 14, 1980 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

    Mike worked as a diesel mechanic for 30 years repairing large construction equipment. He worked for Western Road Machinery, ATA Turbo, Scott Machinery and Kennecott Copper. Mike loved the outdoors. He spent many hours hiking, camping, snow skiing, boating and water skiing. He loved animals and had his first job working for Hogle Zoo. His favorite pets were his Golden Retrievers. He also enjoyed playing baseball, racquetball, and tennis. Mike enjoyed traveling with his family and seeing new places.

    He is survived by his wife Pam Alston; child Martin (Marty) Alan Alston; grandchildren Jack Alston, Ben Alston (former spouse Maryann), Ezree Jackson, Lennox Jackson (Sophie Jackson); child Melissa Ann Coles (Tim Coles); and grandchildren, Carter Coles, and Quinn Coles; sister Jaqueline Chambers (Brian Chambers). Preceded in death by parents Cora and Quentin Alston.

    Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on July 15th from 9:30 to 10:45am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah. A graveside service will then follow for family and close friends at 11:00am. This service will be held at Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
