In Loving Memory of Michael Brandon Hicks
Remembering a Life of Love, Courage, and Resilience
Michael Brandon Hicks, age 41, left this world far too soon, but his spirit remains deeply rooted in the hearts of all who loved him. He was a devoted father, proud new grandfather, cherished son, brother, and a beloved member of a large and loving family.
Throughout his courageous battle with mesothelioma, Michael faced every challenge with remarkable strength, positivity, and grace. His gentle smile and hopeful outlook never wavered, inspiring everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his beloved children — Kayden (Sienna), Paxton, and Gracelyn — and his precious granddaughter, Lilah Sue, whom he was blessed to meet before his passing. He cherished his role as a father and grandfather, finding purpose and pride in every moment spent with them.
He is also survived by his loving partner, Tasha Yagues; his mother, Stacey; and his father, John Sr (Sonia), all of whom stood by him with unwavering love and support. Michael will be dearly remembered by his brother, John, and sister-in-law, Jennifer, and by his sisters, Tilynn and Shawntel.
Beyond his immediate family, Michael’s kindness and gentle spirit touched many others — including his grandmothers, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold his memory close.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held Friday October 17, 2025, at 4724 Hugo Ave, Holladay Utah, where family and friends can come between 6 and 8 PM to honor the extraordinary man who brought light, laughter, and love to so many.
My prayers are with you and your family. I am the payroll clerk at Costco Depot. Mike was such a great guy, I will always remember him. He also worked with my boys here at the Depot and they are very sadden to hear that he is no longer with us. If you need anything let me know, me and my kids are very blessed to have meet and have the memories that Mike gave us.
This is not what I want to hear about, especially such a great guy. We had a conversation from time to time, side by side as we went to our equipment to start our day, and it was always positive. Making sure we were staying above whatever it was we were facing in this life. God Bless you Mike God loves you more than any of us that will miss you brother.🙏🏾…..God Bless his family, Lord keep them & surround them with your love and let them feel your presence like only you can in Jesus Name. R.I.P.
Our sincere condolences to the family and many friends of Michael.
He was a a good worker and work friend at the SLC Costco Depot.
