With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Olivia Layla Martinez, who left us on August 13, 2024, at the age of 45. Olivia was the heart of our family, a beacon of love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her presence lit up our lives, and she had an extraordinary gift for seeing beauty in the world around her.

Olivia found joy in the art of creation, whether through her cherished DIY projects, the vibrant celebrations she orchestrated, or the unforgettable concerts she attended. Her passion for life was contagious, and her sense of style was unmatched—she embraced every moment with excitement and flair.

Though Olivia faced the battle of her life with cancer, her strength never wavered. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and inspiration in her children: Alezea (26), Jade (24), Robert (21), and Carlos (14), as well as her cherished grandson Giovanni (7). She is also survived by her devoted mother, Linda, and her siblings, Andrea, Colleen, and Christopher Jr. Olivia was preceded in death by her father, Christopher, whose memory she held dear.

Olivia’s spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to the love and light she brought into our lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.

“God Looked”

“God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be Thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.”

Guestbook/Condolences

I was very sad to hear about Olivia’s passing. I worked with her for many years. Olivia was a very smart and hard working person. Olivia was such a sweet soul and was so good to others she was a dear friend to many of her colleagues. Olivia loved her children and family she spoke so highly about them. I know that there are few words that ease your pain at this time. I hope that you are able to find peace and comfort. She will be missed.

Dear Ally, Jade,Robbie,Carlos,Gio

I know there are no words that can ease the pain we all feel right now. The loss of your mom, my beloved sister, has left an emptiness in our hearts that can never be filled. She was not only my sister but also my best friend, and the bond we shared was one of the greatest gifts in my life.

Every day, I miss her more than words can express. I miss her laughter, her wisdom, and the way she made everyone feel so loved and cherished. I know she loved each of you with all her heart, and she would want us to hold on to the beautiful memories we have of her.

Please know that I am here for you, always. We are in this together, and we can find strength in each other as we navigate this heartbreak. Your mother’s love will always be with us, guiding us and keeping us connected.

With all my love,Nina❤️🙏🏼

I worked with Olivia. She was the nicest person. Always did her best and treated everyone with kindness and respect. Especially when COVID hit she never made me feel like some other people did. She was such a hard worker. I am still in shock and cannot believe she is gone. I love you Olivia and miss your beautiful voice and beautiful smile everyday.
