Nathan J. Fullmer

1925 ~ 2018

Nathan J. Fullmer, a native of Salt Lake City, was born March 24, 1925 to Nathan O. Fullmer and Jeannette J. Fullmer. He died December 4, 2018.

Nate graduated from South High School in June of 1943 and entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving with the 69th Infantry Division in central Germany where he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and the rank of Staff Sergeant. After receiving an honorable discharge in April of 1946, he attended the University of Utah, graduating in June of 1951 with a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University's College of Law.

As a member of the Utah State Bar and the American Bar Association, Nate practiced law, concentrating on employment law, until his retirement in 1996. He served as Employer Trustee on the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust for over thirty years. He was also an Employer Trustee on the Western Teamsters Welfare Trust and the Automotive Machinists Pension Trust. Nate was a great fan of big band music and got much enjoyment from his large collection of records, cassettes and CD's.

Nate married Margaret Lake in June of 1951, later divorced. He married Joan J. Keller in October of 1985. He is survived by his wife, Joan; her two sons, Michael (Mary) and Eric (Tonya) Keller; grandsons Cameron and Patrick Keller; granddaughters Tamara Sparks and Briana Grider; four great granddaughters and two great grandsons. Also surviving him are two nieces, Laurie Harville of Edmunds, WA and Barbra Ann Hoge of Provo, UT. He is predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Pearl F. Jacobson and Fae F. Hoge and a nephew, David Kent Jacobson. He enjoyed a special, close relationship with Kevin Jacobson, the son of his late nephew.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Wellington and Comfort Worx Hospice of Utah for their support and care for Nate in his last days. We will miss you, Nate, the Great!!

Friends and family are invited to attend a small memorial gathering in honor of Nate on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City.
