Friday Aug 22, 2025: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Owen Parker Thomsen, age 21, of South Jordan, UT, tragically passed away on August 14, 2025, when he was struck by a vehicle while traveling to work on his e-bike.
Born October 23, 2003, to Amy and Brent Thomsen, Owen was the second of four children and a beloved brother to Zac, Avery, and Gracie.
Owen grew up loving the outdoors—camping, biking, riding four-wheelers. He was always happiest when he was covered head to toe in dirt. He excelled in sports, especially football, where he proudly played quarterback for Bingham Youth Football. A devoted BYU football fan, Owen loved cheering on his Cougars at both home and away games.
He shared countless adventures with his girlfriend, Kamryn Christiansen, whom he adored with every ounce of his being. Together, and with his brother Zac and all their friends, they spent weekends at the sand dunes, winters snowmobiling, and summers at the lake, surfing behind the boat. Owen’s happiest moments were always with Kamryn, his family, his friends, and all of his extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.
At age 19, Owen and Kamryn were in a devastating motorcycle accident caused by a careless driver. Both nearly lost their lives and spent weeks in the hospital. Owen lost his leg, but with incredible courage and determination, he returned to the life he loved without a single complaint—an example of strength and resilience to everyone who knew him.
Owen worked as a welder at 3X Specialties alongside his best friend, Josh Iorg. The two were inseparable, more like brothers than friends. Owen loved his work, respected his coworkers, and formed lifelong bonds with them.
Owen’s siblings—Zac, Avery, and Gracie—shared an unbreakable bond with him. They looked out for one another through both challenges and joys, and they will miss him deeply while carrying his spirit with them always.
As parents, we could not be more proud of the man Owen became. He faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, brought joy and laughter to all who knew him, and filled our home with a special love and energy from the day he was born. He was kind, loyal, responsible, and honest—a son we cherished every day of his nearly 22 years.
Owen will be remembered for his bright smile, his gentle heart, his fierce loyalty, and the joy he brought to so many. His love was felt by everyone he met. He was truly a friend to all. His generosity continues through his gift as an organ donor, allowing his legacy to live on in others.
Owen’s time with us was far too short, but his impact will last forever. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held “OT Style” at the Thomsen home on Friday August 22, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm (11536 Lizzi Cv. South Jordan UT 84095). We kindly ask that all attending be considerate of parking in and around the neighborhood.

I am so terribly sorry for your entire family. What a tragedy to be separated from your son, brother, grandchild, nephew, cousin and friend way too early. I admire Owen's courage and hard work through his life. Please know my love and prayers are with you all. He is so loved and will be missed every day. I love your family and hope the beauty of his life and memories with him will bring you comfort and peace. Love Aunt Billie Jean Pew
I am not a friend of the family, but I first heard the heartbreaking news through my co-worker BJ, who rushed to the elevator saying, “My son’s best friend was hit by a car.” Through her grief, I was devastated to learn of this tragedy. Since that moment, I have not stopped thinking of your family. The obituary was a beautiful tribute to Owen and showed what an extraordinary young man he was. Please accept my deepest condolences to your entire family and his girlfriend during this horrific time. Many prayers are being sent your way. Owen will never be forgotten.
With sympathy,
Susie
