1949 ~ 2025
Patricia Lynne Morrison passed away peacefully Tuesday September 9, 2025 in Sandy, Utah after a brave battle with ovarian cancer. She was born July 14, 1949 to Arnold and Geraldine Capson in Salt Lake City.
She married Robert W. Morrison on November 10, 1971 and they raised four wonderful children, Steven John (Genelle), Rebekah Hewitt (Chris), Julie Mestrallet, and Christopher Robert (Lisa). Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother. She is survived by her husband, four children and twelve grandchildren.
Pat worked many years as a beautician forming many lifelong friendships. She loved all kinds of animals from lop eared rabbits to Chinchillas to turtles. She loved going to rock and roll concerts, often taking her children and their friends. From an early age, she was gifted in writing poetry and even had a few of her poems published. Her favorite joy in life was spoiling her grandchildren.
Pat was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed her callings in primary, young women’s and the Jordan River Temple. Her favorite calling was the time she was able to serve with her husband and those she served with at the Utah State Prison.
Pat will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but find peace knowing she is free from her health struggles and is reunited with her parents. We look forward one day to be together with her again.
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:00am at the Bellview Ward, 1050 E Galena Drive, Sandy, Utah with a short viewing from 9:00am to 10:45am. A viewing will also be held Thursday September 18, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm at the church.
Bob and Family,
We are very sorry for your loss. Sending caring thoughts your way as you move through these difficult times.
Patty was everyone’s best friend growing up on Maxwell Lane. Her house was the fun place to be. Her parents and grandparents Bay and Ann Smart, who lived across the street helped so many of us kids have an idyllic youth. I counted her my best friend.
